Okay Stuart- Just a question for you - " Any problems fitting a Rev Lock to a gas engine " will it respond quick enough to power demands.
      Dave :?

        Dave,

I'm no gasser expert, but I would think it would hold up well...I understand that CSM are making a modified one for Gassers, but the manual does mention.

        Appendix 1
Use with low reving petrol (gas) engines
When using a petrol (gas) engine that needs to operate below the 8000 RPM lower limit for RevLock you can use two magnets located
accurately 180 degrees apart on the fan. It is important that these magnets be fitted facing the same way around (e.g. both magnets with
their North poles towards the sensor). To do this place one of the magnets flat on a steel plate. Mark the exposed face of the magnet with
an indelible marker pen or nail varnish. When the ink/varnish is dry place the second magnet on top of the first. Mark the exposed face of
        this magnet as before.
Now fit the two magnets to the fan with the mark outermost. Note that the Sensor OK test will fail if the two magnets are not the same way
        around.
RevLock will now see twice the actual engine rpm so you will need to set RevLock to twice your actual target rpm.
Additional magnets are available as a CSM spare part no. CSMRL11
        Cheers
        Stuart

Thanks Stu - it would seem the shortly to be announced gas version of the Rev Lock will be the one to wait for as people who have tried the prototype are saying good things about it.
May try an old GV1 that I have as a make shift gov. while waiting.

              Spectra motor placement

Just to give you something to mull over - there seems to be a choice of engine fit.
You can have the plug facing front or back - discuss !!!

Dave I would have thought that facing back would give easier access for a quick change if needed, otherwise your taking the canopy off.....
                Cheers

Yes - the other plus about putting the plug at the back is getting distance between the high tension and your airbourne pack " interferance".

It could make a difference in the CofG as well.

                      Gasser Govenors

Just a follow up on Gasser govenors, there is a product around called a Stator Gator it's a sensor that seems to fit exsisting GV1's and Rev Locks.
The thing that makes it perfect for gassers is it plugs into the kill switch lead on the Zenoah saving the problem of fitting magnets etc. on the fan
Motors and Rotors are hopefully getting some in so will advise further when I can get my hands on one.
                      Dave.
