the csm 180 yellow box gyro never held that well on the one mk2 47,
the gain was on max and the revo mixing was as best as it could get but the tail was never quite right
after fitting the 401 with a 9254 the tails been good as gold
even one of the cloned 401 would work ok on it

i think the gyro pete is using is the gy190
remember the 3d boys cast off gyros are the scale heli fliers friend
if you don't mind second hand parts then get a gyro from a 3d pilot that just has to have the latest and greatest

on the mk2 head the only way you wil get one is new and the best bet is world of heli in germany
if you need the part numbers of the head bitd just ask
the freya/eagle head keep an eye outon ebay and the bmfa web site

Thanks for the info guys, appreciated.
Mine is gy401 and 9254 combo as well. Does it make any preference on the 'rate' or the 'head holding' modes?

Pete, I realised tha that the pushrod is 2mm thin version that came with original MK1, I was thinking to replace with stonger pushrod too as they seems quite weak for such a big heli and imagine the torque required etc. are you planning to make your own pushrod? if so, what diameter mm are you looking at?

      thanks ,

      Lawrence

all of the hirobo's use the 2mm dia push rods
the mk2 uses them without any problems
for thicker dia rods look at the vario ones

Regarding push-rods - when I make my own, I go down to the local bike shop and buy bicycle spokes! They are thicker than the standard 2mm material used by Hirobo et al, but softer. This makes them relatively easier to thread, but wil also (hopefully!) make them less liable to fracture!

A 7BA die gives the perfect thread for the heavier duty links (K&S, etc).
                Pete

No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery.

                  Hey guys,

May I know what thottle curve are you guys using to fly this gasser? some posts says anything over 65% butterfly valve open is not gaining any power use. some says hover around 30% throttle open, that referring to 100% as the butterfly fully open i suppose.

can you please post your throttle ( and also pitch) curves info here? also, i get glitches using the 35MHz , will 2.4 GHz helps? any experience? Thanks .

My brother lives in California so I sometimes get stuff sent to him and he then forwards to me. It's no trouble to do
that if you don't persuade the seller to ship to you.

                      Hi Trillian,

the listing is gone now. Thanks for the offer. Maybe I really need to polish up my skills to get this professionally repaired..

May I know if you can share your throttle curve on gasser heli?

                      Thanks.

Doh! I didn't look at the date or I would have realised. Regarding throttle curves, pchristy has the 47G I used to have. I was using a JR PCM 10 TX
which I still have but don't use anymore. I could look at the curves but I'm not sure how useful they would be.

With my other gassers I try to get the throttle and pitch curves so that the engine always has some load. I did a lot of reading some time ago
and according to a guy in the states called Bill Meador the petrol engines run best when they are loaded a bit more than you would
normally do for a nitro engine as nitros are more happy revving right up to their peak powerband. The gassers I have now are Century
Predator with 26cc Zenoah and a converted Robbe Futura with the Zenoah G23. (both considerably lighter than the 47G obviously).

                            Hi All,

some updates about my olg bell 47 G MK 1 with the metal flybar see saw. I have installed 2.4GHz hitec radio gears and the glitches are all gone now. Glad that I did that.

May I know if anyone can help on the part number and /or place to find a spare for
                            (1) metal flybar see saw centre hub
                            (2) main helical gear.

They are Ok for the time being but just want to plan something in advance while i am doing more restoration work. starting to do some cabin work!
it is hovering ok for now but further tuning will be needed to eleminate some stubborn vibrations.

                            thanks for the help guys.

                            Regards,

will try to post some photos as well.

                              enjoy flying guys!
