          Would welcome anyone elses suggestions?

How did it go with the base loaded antenna? I just got one from Quick UK and the only place I think I can put it for best effect is attached to the underside of the cabin pointing forward. That way it is in line of sight to the Tx at all times whilst flying.

Where did you install yours in the end?

          Peter

P.S. It is flying really nicely now with a pair of Vario semi-symetrical blades, but still not painted. Soon, though, I promise......

            Hi All,

I just got an old Hirobo bell 47G second hand from someone last winter and the previous owner just hang it in his shop for 20 years! I decided to to bring her up in the air and hence started stripping down and check for parts etc. It is my first gasser so searched a lot to tune engine etc. last weekend, my bell 47G flown for the first time!! I have heard that the older hirobo engine is underpowered but luckily it is nto the case for mine! Few questions guys, what and where main and tail blades for best results? also, does it need special servos? i am testing with 'standard' servos at the moment. Also, i do have the smell issue like previous post mentioned but actually not sure if that is fro mthe heli or the petrol container. wil ltry to investigate.

meanwhile, really hope to see people posting pics . by the way, i have few pics and vid! comments and helps welcome !

Thanks for the fast reply. I think your red and white scheme is very attractive. I am thinking of repaint, but only after I tuned her properly. meanwhile, will just let her fly in the military style color. Also, may i know where can I get a spare for the tail blade guide /curved tube? mine comes without it. maybe custome made from some tubing? thanks.

the mk 2 tube has a part no of 0405-332 and the y shaped holder of 0405-335
i don't know if they'll fit the mk1 but dennis stetton should know
look him up under the AHA 's web site

your local ripmax stockist should be able to order them for you, if the won't try leamington hobby centre ,the web site isn't to great and you may have to wait for a reply to any emails but they will get them for you if possible

                  or try wolrd-of-heli in germany

the other options are to try and see if you can get one for a vario bell 47 gII
or make one from some brass tube

the red one is a full scale colour scheme
the other one is painted as per the hirobo adverts by its first owner

It's only taken over a year, but I have finally got around to doing the paint job on the 47. I decided on a lightish blue cabin and white tail boom and frame. Black skids. White bits went to our local powder coater and came back yesterday looking superb. i am in the process of rubbing down the remaining bits to spray up in my garage. I'll post some photos when done, if I am happy with the result :-)
