  • Hirobo EC 135

    Hi
I'm looking to convert the head on my EC 135 to a 4 blade. Hirobo do a 4 blade head for the S60 mechanics but can't find find anyone who stocks it.
Can anyone recommend a good quality head and what other parts I would need. Would the AR 7200 bx flybarless controller work as well.
The mechanics are the s60 2 with 10mm main shaft.

    Thanks

    look at the vario heads
the other option is to see if rcjapan or world of heli stock or can get you the hirobo head

other options are the sports moto heads
or the roban scale helis that quick uk sell if they use a 10mm shaft

as long as the ar7200bx supports a single servo set up then it should work

if the tail power is marginal at the moment using a 2 blade head then with a 4 blade head it will be poor in holding power
if the tail is good then it should be ok with the 4 blade head

Thanks for reply, been looking at the sport moto heads. The tail rotor power is poor, particularly after pirouette. I assume it's a lower head speed for the 4 blade heads. Is that why the tail would get worse?

lower head speed mixed with the additional torque from the 4 blade head
        makes the tail perfomance suffer
if its poor now with a 4 blade head it will be very poor at times

Sorry to add this but when out with the heli today the tail started loosing authority after 7-8 minutes just hovering. Tail was rock solid until then. Landed and let idle for a while then set off again only for it to start to turn anticlockwise.
I have posted issues with tuning and temps are high but improving as I mess with needle settings.
Could high temps inside the fuselage cause the clutch to slip and loose tail authority ?
Certainly don't want a. 4 blade head until I cure this
          thanks

i don't think it is a clutch slipping issue
the engine is losing power as its heating up and then the tail is not holding
the engine issue needs to be fully sorted out first before you attempt to alter the tail
try a high nitro % fuel to help with the cooling
it will smoke but should be better at cooling the engine as it runs a lot richer than low nitro fuel
i know the smoke isn't very scale but it's a trade off between being flyable and looking scale like in the air
