Whats the pred gasser like in terms of ease to fly/maintain and parts? Just asking the question as i have the chance to get one of these in a swap deal
I had mine a few years ago when places like Midland Heli's stocked kits and parts (not sure if they do now). I'd check availability of spares first.
I loved mine, but it seemd to scare everyone (myself included) as it has quite a presence and makes one hell of a noise when you throw it about. My problem was I didn't like the smell of petrol so i sold it back to the guy I bought it off.
I can't remember know, but there is something which you have to change which is plastic as standard and is prone to failure. Could be something to do with the elevator arm link, but I'm guessing from memory there.
Cheers, Simon

I have had a Predator SE gasser for about three years now and until late last year it was very
reliable and completely trouble-free. So the only parts I had to get for it were some links
and Century UK had them in stock. Mine is the 'SE' version with a few blingy bits, all metal
head and tail but ali frames and 26cc Hanson Zenoah engine.
I have the Century V3 pipe which is massive but still a bit on the loud side.
I had a bit of a mishap late last year when something came loose allowing
the main rotor shaft to stuff itself down into the frame whilst inverted.
This then caused one blade to chop into the tail boom, cutting the TT
and a minor crash followed (only damage is boom, TT, one blade that is
possibly repairable, skid struts, tail fins, feathering shaft and maybe the
main shaft, some swash linkage. Not really much damage considering at
one point it was piroetting inverted with almost no cyclic control due to
the linkage being all crumpled.
I haven't got round to ordering the parts and I am considering getting
the Condor boom, TT etc.
I think the worst case situation is some parts may need to come
directly from Century in the USA.
I have always liked it and until the incident last year it has never
needed anything and always performed well.
Although this one is just fairly standard .90 size (710mm blades)
it does have an imposing presence and looks intimidating but
it's rock-steady in a hover and flies very accurately.
