  • Blades 710 vs 720, etc.

    'Just curious what you guys think on this;

    Right now I have TT 710s on my Predator gasser.

    Would 720s be likely to make much difference in lift / disc area?

    I know it's only 10mm but given the disc size maybe that little bit is really noticeable?

    It flies quite well with the blades on there now and autos pretty good but it can easily fit 720s (or even slightly bigger if such a thing existed, say 730 or something).

    ...or go for broke and condor it for 800's...

    Also have to consider chord of the blades.

    I did recognise a big difference on a 600 between 600 and 620 blades...as you say for the disc area here would be way bigger on 720's..can your engine handle the extra load without going down a pinion?

      I think this engine can handle a lot more load. It's the 26cc Hanson and it seems to have a considerable amount of grunt.

      These TT blades have a bit narrower chord than the 690 Radixs I have on the Futura so yeah they could be wider as well.

        'Just to add, does anyone know of a comparison of popular 90 size blades?

        I'd love to see something showing weights, chord size and maybe some simple tests for rigidity and things like that.

          Sorry I can't give a comparison but my 700 had Rotor Tech Scott Gray 720's and they were excellent, sorry past tense as I sold it yesterday.

            Damn, 'sorry to hear that . I know you had such grief with the Spectra G and then did the whole helibug conversion on the 700.

            I did try a pair of 720s I have, I forgot what brand they are, but they were out of balance so I put the TTs back on. At some point I'll find a wider chord blade for it and see what it does.

              the 26cc engine can use 820 blades but the boom on the pred you may need to extend it with a condor boom.

              But the 26cc engine will handle upto 810-820s if you want it to!
