  • Quiet again in here

Well, there was a flurry of activity a while back but now it's all quiet again. This time you can hear the tumbleweeds blowing along and maybe an old road sign swinging by one last nail...

Am I the only Predator owner here now ?

Hello hello ... hello .... echo

If you're lonely then you can always fire up the barbie, get in a case of beer and invite some other gasser folk along...

After years of addiction I'm no predator clean: it's a huge weight lifted...but not gasser clean.. still waiting for my clutch refurbish and servos service and zenoah gaskets.. then spectra gets (yet) another chance..

..but are you actually flying them ,or just using dramatic bookends?

OK, they are large and freakish bookends right now But I really really do plan on flying them a lot more this year very soon. It's just been so easy to grab a .50 nitro and fly and not kill many brain cells worrying about things.

The other thing for me specifically is that carrying a bigger heavier helicopter by hand on the trains and stuff requires a little more thought put into it. I just need a better way of carrying the heli on my bike (geez I know that sounds like I'm 12 years old or something but hey in the far East everybody rides bikes) (I'm not from the far East BTW, just citing an example). Plus I need the exercise.

That's easy... just need a trailer and if you're feeling adventurous then run a belt from a mainshaft gear to the back axle of the bike. It's all excuses..Or go the other way and use the bike dynamo to top up your flight pack on the way....

Or just move nearer a flying site...

Agree way less stress with the nitro..except today it kept getting blown back at me..quite challenging flying into this wind as the disc goes vertical

Yeah I noticed that as well. I mainly kept the disc horizontal though, but good fun. I had a really nice afternoon (Hirobo evo 50) and even worked on my 'lazy 8's' a bit and they were much less lazy now if I do say so myself

Ah, I see what you are saying. I didn't actually notice the vertical disc / wind phenomenon on your heli, this was other helis flying out at Kempton Park. The wind was blowing almost straight back toward the pits (which is not very far from the flightline in the first place).

I have a Kalt GS Alpha which is basically a very similar size and weight to the Radikal, it's much lighter than the Predator or the Robbe and a shorter boom etc. I was reluctant to do much with it until I could round up some spares because it is now a bit rare and spares are pretty much non-existant. But I just bought a spare main/crown gear and have rounded up a few other parts here and there. So it will be interesting to see how it flies. I'm sure it will be nowhere near the performance of the Radikal but the lightness is bound to give it a different feel to the bigger birds.

All I really need to do is put a tail servo in it and replace the fuel tank stopper, I think it's a Dubro part.

You mean to get some video of it in case I crash and ground it forever?

Or to video it catching fire when fuel dribbles out of the leaky stopper?
