  • GY 611 gyro on gasser

Just fitted gy611 and BLS 251 servo on my gasser
its made a big Diff ,But the tail still drifts on flight mode .Any body got any 611 gyro setings for a gasser ?

i assume you mean normal mode?

if your getting drift in normal mode then you need to adjust the linkage either way depending on the way it is drifting.

if your getting drift in heading hold mode and have setup normal to not drift (not majorly important on futaba gyros) then you have a vibration problem or a mounting issue with the sensor.

you won't get settings as it's largely dependant on your setup so the best advice is to work out what it's doing and think logically from there. typically if the nose goes left in HH mode then it's vibration related and if it goes right you can start looking at gyro pads/mounting as that normally is a sign it's mounted too softly. this is not 100% accurate but it's damn close.

    cheers

I've only ever set up my 611 once and that was 2 years ago. I did it exactly as described here -> http://www.jkheli.com/601.htm

main thing is 37% gain on the front screen and servo limit values equal limit values somewhere around 100-110% flick it into normal mode and see if it drifts. it doesnt have to be zero drift but needs to be close.

gassers are vibe monsters a relatively single cylinder and the zenoahs are pretty crude. assuming the above is right then its worth experimenting with the mount. are you using 2 pads with the metal plate?

I have 67% on the screen , the tail is rock solid till you flick it into flight mode then it drifts left ,I have put the gain setings up a bit on the trany and it seems to be a lot better may be my thottle curve for idle up is all to pot ,
some trial and error may be called for !!
