  • Testing went okay...

    Hi
So today before work at 2pm I went down to the club site and met up
with a fellow Heli flyer Andy.

He had just got a Raptor 60v2 for 300 pounds - servos bit of a good
deal there! Nice Helicopter has to be said.

Now The Gasser..... Okay made 2 mistakes today

    1. didnt take the Pitch Gauge with me!
    2. didnt have everything charged up! (DOH!)

charged everything up at the strip.

Now never started a Gasser Before and nerves galore, with me and Andy both holding the head 5 pulls on the starter and she fired up. Sounded
totally amazing. We let go of the rotors and steped back. Tick over was fine if maybe a tad fast. Now slowly winding it up speed on the head was good and took my nerves a lot to get near take off point and gyro wasnt
quite set up right! Dam the heli turned left but I just powered off no harm
done no tiping nothing so I let the engine run for about 10 mins then used
the throttle cut which worked a treat.

The helicopter at a good head speed on the ground had NO vibrations at
all and blades looked to be tracking level as well.

I just need to look why my gyro didnt go into heading hold, manual time.

But I can tell she is going to be a babe to fly and hopefully hassle free.

Now with a Gasser what should the engine be running like rich/smokey?

Not normal to see a gasser smoking - the sound will tell you when it's four-stroking .
Gassers don't quit when there lean they will just cook.
After a couple of runs take the plug out and check the colour of the insulator - your looking for a mushroom/beige colour .
    If it's white your lean
If it's black your running rich.

If it's not fun, your not doing it right !!
