  • its nearly done....

    Hi All,
she is nearly ready to fly. Gasser has given me some issues
and 2 errors in the build, but I got some help and these have been
    sorted out.

Nearly down to flight testing just the head holding me up.

120ccpm but which one when my tranny has 3-4 is driving me nuts
and that detail is omitted from the manual. all I know is its 120.

Also all Ball links are extremly tight not like my raptors at all.
makes some servos buz thats for sure but I suspect a bit of flying
    will losen them up.

Was hoping to get her airbourne this weekend but Doesnt look very
likly due to lack of main fuel line. Stuff I have is to thin
for the intake nozzle on the engine.

    But she looks stunning.

              Hi
I have done parts and the guy has done other bits but
its basically a joint build. I started it bottom frames to
engine mount. Top frame then needed help and now she
sits on a guys workbench and every evening from 7 -10
we work on it. Discovering my mistakes

I have been there since it arrived at his and its worked on when
              were both there.

My mistakes have cost us about 1+ hour for strip and rebuild.

              But learned a lot.

Test flight could be this weekend.

If we can set her up right on the bench...

                  Hi
Well er for me totally new to scratch build the raptor 30ARTF was
easy enough. But also the guy helping me hasnt built a heli in a
while so slow and steady build.

Also learning when the manual isnt quite right

                          Hi
After this bit of help I could put another one together now.

The thing is if you read instructions you can do it. But getting build
advice is not a bad thing.

Personelly if it was say a Raptor 30 i'd get the ARTF as you don't need
the ball race kit for it and the engine is good enough. So at the end of
the day I think it works out a tad cheaper for the ARTF with engine.
(I payed 157 for my ARTF raptor 30 new, a gut sold his model shop
and had one left over so I got it cheap, he has engines and kits still
                          left over)

But building is actually fun and not a bad thing to do. My building skills
have made a massive jump and now I a confident I could strip this
Heli right down and build it back up again.

I can understand why people say build your heli but find someone local
who could build it with you is not a bad idea.

Photos are blured becuase I used my camera on my phone.
love bluetooth easy to upload to the computer.

Disc. What tranny are you using? The 9C uses swash setting SR-3 for 120CCPM. For tight ball links, squeeze the link gently against the ball. This will loosen it.

                              Hi
yes the 9 has SR-3 The Futaba 7 however is diffrent again
                              it uses HR-3.
