  • tarot zyx+how do you connect a satellite?

I have a tarot zyx on a trex 250 pro dfc, how do you connect a satellite up to this unit? There isnt a lead for it in with what I have with the unit. Im using an orange rx with a dsmx satellite, just to test things out as its second hand. I would rather just use a satellite though.
I also cannot enter the system menu the servos are moving and the rx and sat is bound.

    cheers

If it's the ZYX-S, you use one of these to connect a spektrum satellite... Tarot ZYX-S Spektrum Satellite Adapter Cable | eBay

No, you need a satellite or separate receiver.

You can buy them from loads of places... Hobbyking do their own branded one, it's the same thing.

I remember seeing the leads at Fast lads the last time I was up there... although it may have been a futaba one on the shelf. Tarot ZYX-S Spektrum Satellite Adapter Cable FYTLZYX09

So im guessing it works like 3gx and micro beastx if you use right lead and sats it then becomes a rx aswell but if not you then use a seperate rx

Also which sats do you need to use DSM2 or DSMX?

Kinda, but technically not. the Sat IS the RX the FBL just "decodes" for want of a better word.

The ZYX-S was a bit tricky to get to work with an orange sat. Managed eventually, but took some messin' with. I think Both might work but I used a DSM2

I think this is where confusion comes from sometimes, it never under any circumstances 'becomes a rx' the satellite is a receiver, it just lacks anywhere to plug the servos in and provide control signals to the servos.

You are always going to need a receiver to add to the FBL unit, you can simplify the wiring by using Spektrum satellite receivers, or Futaba S-Bus, or you just use any other receiver and connect a few more cables between the receiver and the FBL unit.

In none of these cases does the FBL unit ever become a receiver.

Does the AR7200BX count mister? :-)

AR7200BX is a BeastX FBL unit and a spektrum receiver in the same box so no, it doesn't count as the FBL and Rx are still separate entities. They're just bundled together instead of separate units with a patch lead between them.

So still best to use a seperate rx with these then? I was thinking about getting one for my 250 and thought I might be able to save on a rx due to lack of space to fit one! Dont fancy the 3gx to be honest and never tried these but heard lots of good things

Sorry if we are confusing you with the way we describe things.

You will always be using a separate receiver, the only question with Spektrum is if you will use just one or more satellites as the receiver or use a full size receiver possibly with a satellite as well.

Personally I really don't like using Spektrum technology with just a single satellite, but I guess if I was going to do it then a 250 would be about the limit.
