I guess that's why they call them trials and tribulations?? Hope you get it sorted soon anyway.
      Have a good one,
Smoke pumped out the servo...but the unit itself is as dead as a dodo died as i plugged in the main pack servos just went opposite lock in the heli ..now just jitter in time now with the usb stick as the leds pulse on the software it jitters in time..will try a reboot on the unit with the ini file and see if i can get it back...i opened the unit to see for obvious signs of damage but all looks ok..will boot it up without the case and see what gives...oh well so be it....NEXT!!!!!

        Haydn,

Here's a link to the firmware file for the Copterx 3x1000 - http://www.ky-model.com/copterx/CX-3X1000v1-0.bin just download it and save to your desktop. Connect USB dongle to computer and FBL unit, fire up the FBL software, select correct comm port, turn on FBL unit whilst holding in "set" button (you should get a flashing red led), then click Upgrade and select the file that you saved to your desktop - it downloads about 234 chunks of data and (fingers crossed) you're sorted

        Cheers,
        Mike

Hi haydn, that, I guess is the good thing about the ZYX, copterx etc. you aren't brickin
200 -300 quids worth. It's got to be worth another 2 quid to be posted to the Tarot whisperer,
errrr sorry, MikeJ. If you send it 2nd class, at least it will be slow, a bit like its last journey . I'll doff my cap when I see the postie, just in case.
              Cheers.

                    SOOOOOO!!!!

after much peeing about with the burnt tail servo a blown FBL unit...then try a new servo a new FBL unit plug into Computer use 4.8v supply to power evertthing it all looks great! setups Great software great FANTASTIC.......................You would think!!!!!

walk out onto law plug in lipo wait for sequence to complete.....try throttle blades start to spin...........wait....eeer wait STUFFALL!!!! no cyclic or tail...but throttle works... go back inside check everything out same as before as above explained...go outside again...same bollocks no boot no sequence just a flashing red light and nothing....

back to shed...checks out ok on pc with software....DANG!
                    decide to check esc program...

plug in prog card..lights flash for a milli second and out!...OOOPS here is the start of the problem...get multi meter check bec....STUFFALL VOLTAGE ...

so who took out who in this little saga..but at the end of the day
                    1x "BULLETPROOF" esc
                    1X FBL unit
                    1X Tail servo
                    1X program card....all dead !!
                    hey hows that...pick a culprit ...
my guess is the tail servo took out the bec..the bec took out the FBL unit and in its last legs killed the prog card before totalling itself as well..
so its flying again and all repaired flying like it was before I started fiddling with it!...

so just a couple more run in flights and its going into a AIRWOLF fuz with retracts..will be a nice little heli!
                    Cheers
                    H

I decided that I would try and make a new lid for one of my Copterx FBL units, what do you reckon - ok
for someone armed with a Dremel and some sandpaper ?????

Skilled work there. What was the donor??, or did you make the whole thing from a sheet of steel?

Just pulling your leg I'm afraid - it is the Copterx lid after I removed the annealing with drain cleaner

I thought it looked a very good match, size and form wise, even the radii on the corners. You want to take up fishing, you certainly caught me.
