So my Talon 90 should be OK for a 6s set-up? Hope so!

Reading the thread low battery voltage seems to be the culprit and a lesson to us all not to push lipos too far.

    Luckily little damage

      Talon90 is absolutely good for 6S ..

      Input voltage MIN: 3S LiPo
      MAX: 6S LiPo
Max continuous amperage at full throttle 90 amps (rating determined with 5mph airflow across the ESC)
BEC voltage (voltage regulator for powering radio and servos) User selectable choice of 6 or 8 volt output
      BEC output 20 amp peak*
      9 amp continuous

Oh right didnt see it was a 450......... Teach me to read it properly!!

My Align 35 amp works fine with FBL, with Align 415 servos, 520 tail and a Vortex. As has been said could well be a lipo issue, as my lipos have been struggling a bit with the cold
Some say my left nipple is the shape of a Raptor canopy.......... And that for fun I chase sheep in wellies 3 sizes too big. All I know is I am 3D Clod

Could it not just be a dodgy RX? My Spektrum one has started doing this. Just because it's Spektrum doesn't mean it won't ever fail.

Nothing is immune to failure, but LIPO seems the most likely - and easiest to check for sure!

I got a low voltage error on my logo 400 yep ESC the other day. Lipos were charged in the warm and then sat outside whilst I flew. It was the last battery which had been in the cold for 30-40 mins by the time I flew it. 6 mins flight as standard but unfortunately I didn't have my lipo checker. But when I got home all read 45/46% as always. I just put it down to the cold but will keep an open mind if it happens again. No brownout and a run a gryphon BEC so feel fairly reassured. It was chilly though!!

Volts drop more when cold as internal resistance goes up. Volts on load are what counts and not offload. The ir also goes up as lipo ages and gets used. There are alarms that check each cell on load and they are very cheap.

You can set the voltage as you want depending on if you want long flight times or long lipo life. The alarm is very load.

Just a little update, I checked the lipo over last night and found the red wire on the balance lead plug looked to have either burnt out or broken off? I'm assuming that it charged, but may of missed a cell or something which gave me a sudden loss of power? Needless to say, that has now been disposed of and once I can get out, will try her again. What doesn't help is my new house, I keep all my heli stuff in the cellar, which although has been fully plastered and is bone dry, there is no heating as yet, so it's only around 10* till I put the heater on. I think I need to move the lipos, charger and tx and maybe the heli's into a spare room upstairs till I can get a radiator down there.

+1 on these, very handy for quick test of battery, gives reading for total volts and each cell. Have one strapped to my helis, you can read it while hovering. Even with speakers taped over still loud alarm, once set will give warning when one/all cell reach low voltage. You may have charged your batteries the same and they may read the same but in flight one cell may be failing, the alarm will sound if one cell drops. Once on the ground it may well read fine again, but you'll know something is wrong with that battery.

It's funny - I always knew LIPOs didn't like the cold, but hadn't realised how much until I bought a nano-QX quadcopter for my daughter. Its little 150mah 1S LIPO gives us roughly 5 mins flying inside the house. Yesterday, outside, it lasted about 2 mins - 3 mins absolute tops. Cold really does have a noticeable effect!

The other part of that is the C rating drops considerably so you are more likely to damage them in the cold as well.

There's a chap that flies a powered glider over my local field and the acceleration is insane. I may be wrong but I think he drains a 5000 6s in a few seconds !!!!! In short bursts. Anyway I digress, he stores his packs in a heated box I believe 30 degrees for the very reason that the cold saps the power from them when cold

I used to think it was a bit anal and OTT but I don't now

I have used a handwarmer pack in my lipo storage box when it's cold. Keeps them warm.

I don't put the warmer into a cold box but one that has kept the lipos at room temperature so I don't risk any over-voltage issues.
