CopterX vs Tarot

Just starting to look at flybarless and have obtained a CopterX CX3-2000. At £33 posted from UK it seemed worth a try even if it turns out to be Junk. I have read that the CX3-1000 is the same as the Tarot ZYX but the 2000 is quite different and alleged to be faster and better than the 1000.
There is now apparently a Tarot ZYX-s and I wonder if this is the same as 3000 although the photos that I have seen look different. The 3000 comes in a cast Ali anti vibration casing which puts the weight up to 20gm and it also has three adjustment pots which seem to be for manual adjustment of the gain on the three channels.
Can anybody comment?

Unfortunately the 3X2000 has not worked well at all - apparently the latest firmware is an improvement, but still probably not as good as the rest.

As you say the 3X2000 has completely different hardware to the 3X1000 - the 3X1000 started out with fundamentally the same hardware and firmware as the Tarot ZYX (note - not ZYX-S), but Tarot developed theirs more and added numerous features when they brought out the "S" (satelite support, quad and plane support, governor) plus they developed the firmware flight characteristics more to improve cyclic and piro consistency.

The latest ZYX-S firmware (4.02) is excellent, I also have some CX 3X1000s + Robird G31 + FUBar (Mini Vbar clone) + Beastxs IMHO the ZYX-S with the latest firmware is right up with the FUBar, the G31 is also excellent - the big difference is that the ZYX-S is half the price of the others (you can't get the FUBar any more but there are other Vbar clones for around $90)

Thanks for the info, looks like I made the wrong choice especially as Hobbyking are now offering the Tarot ZYX-S for the same price.

However I am starting flybarless on the cheap by converting the heads on old second hand SJM Helis. The original intention was to fly them without electronic stabilisation, so if the CopterX version works at all it may be better than nothing.

the copter-x 3x1000 isnt bad certainly on smaller 450 size helis, i have one and its ok but having also flown beastx, 3gx and vbar it does sit very much at the cheap end of the market from a 'feel' point of view.

depends what you are looking for, if your'e on a very tight budget its probably great as entry level but im certain you'll be looking to swap out before too long.

anyway, depends whos flying it lol..heres my cheap as chips 450 clone with copterx that i started with being flown by chris 'chunk' newby lol
