Sk720 new firmware failsafes lands itself

The possibilities are definitely very interesting if they do get the GPS running. Have any of you who have an SK720 tried a Beast X (preferably on the same heli) and if so, how do the flight characteristics compare?

I am afraid I cannot comment on the BeastX, but I prefered it so much over Vbar that i swapped out all my Vbar units. On the TDR I felt it transformed it no end. And all this was before any self level or auto save. (oh dear lets hope we dont have the Do-a-search-for-Vbar police on this forum as on HF)

Eventually this can lead to a failsafe system that will return to base. Also you could program the heli to do the following things.....

Never fly over the pits

never fly below 2 metres (ie never crash)

Fly only in a predefined air space

never fly over a certain speed or over a certain height

Return to base, land or hover at certain height and spot on a switch

Only allow landing in a predefined space

True auto landing

Etc Etc. exciting stuff both for fun and more important excellant safety features

And if none of the criteria are met you will have to get a ladder and a set of sky-hooks and pluck it out of the air manually, otherwise it will be up there forever!

Have you flown a Skookum ?? I have both v-bar and sk720 and I can honestly say the sk720 is a very good flybarless controller. Its easily on par with the v-bar and has some good features like the self levelling which is great for beginners and practicing new moves and trust me the sk720 is streets ahead of a beastx

not a chance it is going to land under normal circumstances. any responsible pilot will have failsafe set to shut the thro down so unless that fbl system can shoot an auto your still going to pick up bits.

i would also suggest that NO ONE even attempts to try this and leave the throttle at a level to attempt a safe landing...i know 99% of people won't but i guarantee someone will think of it.

There is no settings for throttle on this Paul I beleve the idea is if it looses signal it simply levels and lowers the throttle to zero which I think everybody can agree is better than heading towards a tree or better still a person or people !!
