  • Loving my Knight more and more!

Having already used a Skookum 360 FBL unit on my Atom, with mixed success, I sold it before trying it on my 3D and instantly regretted it.
Well I recently bought another one and an RJX head from Tony (Sesame) and my Knight now feels like a new heli! It took a few tests, and a bit of tweaking on the laptop to get it working nicely, but I'm loving it now!
It seems to work so much better on the 3D than it ever did on the Atom, with no nasty tendencies at all. It flies faster and straighter than ever, with no pitching at all in FFF. I've no doubt a V Bar would perform even better, but this is flying awesome!

I've also replaced the Spartan with a Solid G on the tail and what a difference that has made! Straight out the box it felt more locked in than the Spartan ever did.
All this has led to me feeling so much more confident with it the last few weeks, and today, I pulled off my first 'proper' inverted autos!!
Landed 4 or 5 straight after each other, flipping out at about 30ft... Went home feeling well chuffed!!
Haven't felt like this about my flying for quite a while now.. Happy days!!

I'm glad to see good things about the Knight. I have a K3D kit as yet unbuilt but prob will be an early winter project.

      Get it built Sheryl!
      Don't believe the hype!
It was a great heli this time last year, and it still is!

Glad to hear you had a good day at Boxhill today. I very nearly went there, but ended up going to Redhill instead.

Yeah, the weather held up nicely. I had a frustrating time with the engine in the Vision 50. It was getting embarassing after a while. Never in my life have I had such a difficult time with an engine. It was gummed up in some way to where it just would not turn over with the starter (or anyone else's starter either) and yet it was not hyrdo-locked, you could turn it over by hand. Someone suggested intentionally blowing some fuel through it with the plug out and that worked but I had to do it a couple times. That ate up a lot of the early and sunny part of the day. Then a plastic tail pitch slider split but lo and behold a club member who lives nearby was about to go and get one that was lying around. So I did get the beast airborne in the end and so I'm happy (just slightly paranoid about the next time I try to start the silly thing )

I have a few other heli projects in front of it but the Knight is on the list. Every now and then I peek inside the box to remind myself
