Great review Laurence. I upgraded to a DX8 about 12 months ago from a DX6i: had no choice as my Raptor E550 needed 3 servo 90° ECCPM and the DX6i didn't offer this. Was impressed with the DX8 straight away though, like you.

May I ask a couple of questions please:

My current fleet includes a MCPx, a Trex450 ProV2 3GX Combo, my Raptor E550 and my new Compass 7HV. From this thread I know the 11ms setting will work with the 7HV as I'm using MKS950/980 digital servos, Mini VBar and DSMX satellites. But will it work with my other helis?

Raptor: Ace GT5 with DSMX satellites. MKS 950s on cyclic but Futaba S9254 on tail with voltage step down.
Trex 450: standard Align combo servos and 3GX on board with DSMX satellite.

I'm guessing the MCPx is a no no in this regard.

    Many thanks in advance Laurence.

    Cheers
    Dom

      Hey guys.

Yes, so close I can smell the jet fuel! ;-)

I'm planning on firing it up at the weekend if all goes to plan, but probably not a flying test as Vaughans going away and it wouldn't be fair for him not to be there as it took off for the first time. He did say I could and then call him, but I'm going to wait till he's about.
Just updated Vbar to PRO tonight, so final setting up to do, double check flight critical bolts, turbine ECU settings and then light the blue touch paper and stand back :-/

I to am very excited about this model, as after all the years I spent with the Century Predator Turbine with the heavier Wren MW54 gas generator, this lighter MW44 was on top of my list to fly. But alas, WREN felt they no longer needed a demo pilot in the UK, so I never got the chance. Thanks to Vaughan now I've got a chance and then I've got the Bergen Magnum 44 turbine to do next, pick that up from Baz saturday ;-)
