  • New Nitro Governor 5.2.5 now works switchglow

Hey all Mikadodo have brought out a new "nitro combined Gov " it seems to use just the throttle channel for the control, like an electric.

The good thing is this frees up a channel to run a switchglow :-)

    The bad bits ,.....
It appears that you can only spool up your heli in "Normal" and you have to fly in Idle up 1 or 2

If you try to fly in normal as I did the moment you lift off the throttle backs off .

    anyone tried this yet ???

    Nitro Governor

    Setting up the nitro-Governor:

Please take note that during every setup procedures the motor has to be turend off. Otherwise the motor can spool up accidentally during the setup procedures!
For the nitro governor we have implemented 2 different modes. Please read more about them in the following specific pages. Here a overview about the modes:
    • Nitro combined mode: Here we have one channel for throttle and RPM preset. This guarantees a soft spoolup while switching hard from idle to a defined governed headspeed. The throttle curve for governed headspeed is included in the VBar here, the throttle curve for idle will be in the transmitter. This mode can also be used with standard hookup, in this case this channel will be the bankswitch channel too. This is our recommended mode on every nitro heli for firmware 5.2.4 with pc software 5.2.5

    Hi Rachel

This is how mine is setup.

What you do in normal is from mid stick if you need a heaspeed of say 1500 in normal from point 4 on your curve if 1500 = 60% on the curve then run a flat line of 60% from point 4 to 7 on your curve.

Once you pass 50% on throttle the governor engages and will slowly bring the throttle to the required HS.

Then fly as normal.... switching between modes as and when. I then dialled into mine that if would have control over pitch to maintain headspeed starting @ 20% setting and so far it seems to be okay.
    Cheers

      Same as Stuart.

In Normal 0-50% is run totally off your curves. 50% onwards is governed.

        Thanks again x Rachel

Hi so I am still confused !!!
do I leave the throttle set to "throttle output by collective" ?
If I do when I go in to idle up the Throttle arm doesn't move.

My guess here is you use the above to set high throttle only then switch it back to throttle output by throttle .

So IN normal mode , I set all my curves above half stick to a flat line to give the indicated head speed .

            Hope this makes sense
