  • What is better to use!

For the past year or so I've been using the v bar as my RX with two sat! What I was wondering is would it be better if I go back and use am standard RX connected into the v bar? I've never had any problem with connection but was thinking of using a spektrum 9 channel RX with two sat because the 9 channel RX has two built in RX so that with two sat would sound good, plenty of connection.
    Do what u do best

    T rex 700LE beast x radix 710 fbl blades
    T rex 700LE stock radix 710 SB
    T rex 600LE beast x radix 600 fbl blades

    DX7 and DX8
    Phoenix sim
    And plenty of spare parts

I have never used sats as Im with Futaba but most common problems arise from using sats eg. loose wire etc. Connection seems accessible using sats but for solid connection if I ever use one, will only use full size receivers.

If you are worried about losing rf it has not happened to me using one on 450 and 2 on bigger Helis. I have had a lead pull out of a sat but that was my stupid fault for not using hot glue on them which I do now. Adding a seperate rx is IMO not necessary and just adds more spaghetti and more points of possible failure.

All my 90-size helis use 2 sats plugged in to the FBL unit (TotalG or 3Gx). No problems so far and a nice neat installation. My way of thinking about it is that 2 sats on a FBL unit has the same number of antennas as an AR7000 + sat. It's probably more important to have 2 well-placed antennas than 3 badly placed ones.

Stick with the satalites it makes life simpler and less wires as above. Just make sure the connecting leads are good and plugged in well and use some ZAP goo to secure them , but only a little ! Ive had no problems with sats ever for the last 4 years.
However I have recently changed my radio to an XG14 which now uses its own Infinity Xbus system with 3 satalites.

I can not see the point really in using a separate receiver if you can use 2 satellites with the FBL unit, as previous post said they have the same amount of antennas as a normal receiver and a satellite, but you can place the 2 satellites in better positions.

Its a good idea to add a little goop to the plug itself across the wires, if theyre going to fail they fail here and the goop stiffens it up a bit
