This suits me well as I was always a little disappointed with the feel in the hover of the BeastX.

Are there any tips of how to spice up the roll and pitch rates for 3D type flying? I presume increasing the TX ATV on aileron & elevator is the main way? I will also try increasing the cyclic pitch.

First, try flight mode 5, then if it's not sufficient, increase AFRs in the unit (cyclic pitch). You don't have to have 8 degrees there, set it to 12 if you want. Only thing to keep in mind is that AFRs should be between 50 and 60 optimally (you will need less throw if they are too high) and obviously no mechanical binding.

Travel adjust on the radio (and dual rates) are ok too.

CGY750 is different from other units and main difference is that you set it up like flybar heli, just set most of things on the unit not on the radio.

I've bought a 700E after selling my 700N's and finally got round to maidening it last night. I've used a CGY-750 in my 700E from one of my nitros and kept the same settings (apart from turning off the governor!). The test flights last night went very well indeed and I'm very pleased in going all electric.

The only slight problem I found is that in a slow flat circuit, the 700E did have a slight occasional aileron wobble, so I went down on the gains but it did not make any difference. I then upped the gains back to what I had on my nitros and downed the D.Gain from 80% to 60% on both aileron and elevator and Bingo!!! The wobble was gone!

Hopefully I'll get out again this weekend and get some more packs through the 700E.

Both gains up to 80% now and still no wobbling. Aileron roll is now straight without skewing off so I guess the extra gain has fixed that.

But, for some reason it rolls quite a bit faster to the left than it does to the right. Any ideas?

Have you got equal aileron cyclic pitch right and left? If not, you can get it equal with your aileron ATV's.

It's within half a degree or so each way around the 8 mark.

But that is maximum cyclic pitch isn't it which is a bit academic really? The gyros will demand as much cyclic pitch as is required to complete the rotation at the desired rate, so even if I have 8 degrees available in my very modest settings, I guess it rearly uses much more than 5 or 6. I'm no stick banger.

Update for me. I have gone down this route - Team Futaba Tip #12 - and jumped from flight mode 1 to flight mode 4 in one step without any duress. I've reduced the cyclic roll/pitch rates to 50% to suit my flying but really just setting up as per the Futaba team tip. I've got my cyclic gains up in the 75/80 region and tail gain up to 80%ish as well on the amp.

The heli tracks well and is very accurate, but somehow lacks the 'human' feel a bit if you know what I mean. I still need to get my head around these I (60%) and D (200%) gains. I've got a better set of cyclic servos on order which will hopefully help to iron out a couple of inconsistencies and hope to give them a bash this weekend maybe.

All in all, it's been very trust-worthy and painless to setup. Highly recommended from me, but I've never tried (well I have, but only on other people's machines, so only limited experience for limited flights) any other fbl unit, so have nothing to compare it to.

Just rereading this thread. Going to update my 90's 750 to 1.2 tonight. I'm really sad because I'm really looking forward to it haha.

I'm probably wrong, but if it's too robotic, can you drop the AVCS damp % down?
