Does anyone know if I need a special driver to use my CSM software/usb interface on a Windows 7 pc?

New Laptop and I can't get the interface recognised. Software (Cyclock interface) runs but no connection to USB dongle, hence no way to adjust the mixer unit.

    Any clues wlecome.

    The driver is missing.

You can force the install by going to the driver manager, but doesnt seem to work for everyone.

    Common issue.

yeah chased my tail on this a few months back, they think there may be some problem with certain processors? Mine is I7 quad core, never got it working reliably, their hands are tied until the company that make the USB-serial interface bring out updated drivers.

          CHaps

Thanks for the speedy replies. Downloaded the drivers.

Most of the time the response to "Connect to Mixer" is now along the lines of either interface found but not initialising or interface found, working but no connection to Mixer.

Once I got a Mixer connected but firmware version 0 detected, download alternative interface software.

I might lose my rag with this

Now I remember why I went V-Bar on my other machines...

            Download ccleaner
            Download CCleaner 3.03.1366 - Download - FileHippo.com
run the registry cleaner and try again.

I had exactly the same same symptoms as you are having, I cleaned the registry etc nothing helped. Got connected maybe twice out of hundreds of tries. So the behaviour is intermittent, I would save your sanity mate. Some people have no trouble with it at all, but there are plenty who do. Spoke at length to CSM and they eventually came to the conclusion that the drivers didn't like my processor.

Serves me right for ditching good old XP.

If I have similar problems with my V-Bar v5 software I'm screwed!

That a trial for another day - the single malt makes further technical endeavour unadvisable this evening.

I used CSM cycloc without issues on Win7. I had trouble finding the drivers but once sorted no problem.

                    I'll give it a go.
