  • Collective pitch setting

When I go through the BD3SX wizard and at the diagnose page I set the tx value for collective so that the bar goes up when my stick goes up but in reality this is giving me negative pitch on the heli.

I have a heli with leading pitch arms so my swash goes down for +ve pitch.

If I reverse the tx to get +ve pitch when my stick goes up (as it should) - in the BD3SX program in the diagnose section the bar is moving the wrong way.

When I do the axis check everything counteracts as it should, is this OK or will the BD3SX think it is the wrong way round and I'll crash or is this a symptom of heli's where the swash goes down for =ve pitch and it's OK?

    Thanks

You could reverse the channel in the BD software instead of the tx.
As long as everything moves the right way on the heli and the heli responds to tipping the way it should then you should be all good to go.

      Hi Ben,

I tried that but the only reversals were on the individual cyclic servos and on reversing them all it was all 'farce about ace'. I'll double check though that there isn't one reversal in the software for pitch.

Like you say it all tips the right way so should be OK it's just not having it exactly as the wizard wants has me thinking the 3SX's brain could get confused and I have an 'accident'.

Since I have slept on it I think I may have had the servos connected too early in the wizard so I think I'll wipe all settings and go through it all again. Nothing like familiarising yourself with the software. Thanks again.

Does that have self level? if so be careful, as the heli may drive itself into the ground when its supposed to climb if the pitch is the wrong way.

ASide from this I cant offer much im afraid as I've never used one.

You can test the self level/ recovery on the ground to make sure the swash goes in the correct direction

OK ready for Maiden tomorrow on the E820 if the wind stays as low as today.

Sorted the pitch movement out cheers to Maj, hadn't read the software servo reversing thoroughly enough and missed the two elevator and aileron switching options.

USed a setup for my DX8 off another forum which managed to get the light to go orange on the 3SX and had some great must do's for maiden flight.

Maiden flight for the BD3sx is to set the tail and head gains for normal flight - and sh1t my pants.
