Gpro Any Good...!

Not flown for number of weeks now having family care come first which has also slowed us up getting our home finisehed since moving in 2 years ago and still a little way to go before its finished, so whilst its a little difficult to get some flying time in & far from wanting to give up flying im going to update my fleet of heli's so i would be very interested if you've flown the Gpro on the 250, 450, 500, 600e & n, 700n as these are what im thinking on updating from 3GX.

Hi, although I'm not a pro IMO Gpro is a good fbl unit. Easy to set up, easy to tune at the field, you can use your cellphone. It holds helicopter and the tail rock solid, and I've never seen that stable piro hover.

Cheers for the info, ive just ordered two Gpro's for starters one for 600E & thinking the other on my 250 so i can compare how the Gpro performs then if i like the Gpro ill order another 3 in couple weeks.

Can't believe ive been let down by another builder who didn't turn up must be nice to be able to pick n choose your work.

I will be interested to hear your thoughts as i would love to try one myself,the trouble is i dont see where Align can gain reputation with these,the VX1NE is 100 quid and proven to be excellent,the 20 quid V Bar clones perform the same as proper V Bar also and are compatible with Mikados latest pc software too that supposed to block their use so Align have their work cut out here.

Having always been gluten for Align's fbl units just seemed right for me to go the Gpro, im very happy with the 3GX v5 works perfect on my 250 so if the Gpro doesn't work as well then ill fit to 450 & then onto 500 but i am seriously thinking going all the way with the Gpro on all heli's so ill give some reviews very soon.

Yeh i have had 3g and two or three 3GXs and found them ok tbh but preferred V Bar,i am a sucker for Align stuff also,will deffo try a Gpro sometime,probably nearer Xmas when i plan to buy the 700L Top combo(matt black) minus the Castle though.

Flown 3GX v5 on a 600N recently,couldn't fault it,did its job very well.

I have the align 700l super combo so I tired the gpro as it came with it. I normally use vbars

i have never used a 3gx so I can not comment on how it compares to that but I want expecting to be any Good with all the reports from the older systems. But I was very surprised it took a couple of flights to get flying how I like it but after it flew very smooth and predictable. And if you up the agility it can be very quick and stops nice So I don't plan on selling it and replacing with anything els at the moment. Tbh as it was very easy to set up abit like vbar. And with the Bluetooth app it was very easy to change the settings prefer doing it like that. Over a controll panel

Well i succumb to the Gpro and BT module on here last night,will be fitting it to my x50.

Setup is all blah de blah straight forward,but just checking if there is any cyclic ring function to limit binding at extremes as i cant see anything obvious.

Hey Jim.

Loving my Gpro on my new 550L. Having been a strong Vbar fan (and still am) because they work and work well, when I sold my Vbar with my old 550E I hoped I hadn't made a mistake. I was surprised if I am honest to find out I haven't!
The machine in stills confidence as did the Vbar on my previous one, a few tweaks to the gains and agility's has the model performing how I want it to. Tail control and overall hold seems good to. The Vbar on my old 550 was whippy in any piro stuff and this was with the longer boom, but on this machine running the same tail ratio but on the shorter 550 boom, the tail is smooth and consistent.

Hi Ian never known you to say bad thing about 3G/3GX & you've always back it up in a dispute & as you know ive always been a loyal to 3G/3GX even thou i gave other fbl units a go & now reading your post can only inspire others to give Gpro a go, i have just done my 250 as a starter and very impressed except tail needs bit more work doing, im now also starting on my 600e & will learn tail parameters on that one to solve tail on 250.
Glad your loving the Gpro Ian could we see you changing...? soon.

Flown my Gpro on my X50 now,firstly love the ability to adjust with the Ipad.

As for flying characteristics,first impressions are its pretty good actually,surprisingly so,already prefer the feel over the Vortex but V Bar still wins for me,but its about the best runner up i have flown.

To add i will almost certainly be selling it in a bit as i cant see me ever giving up V Bar,i purchased it to try it for myself,form an opinion of it and nothing more,so if its good or bad it makes no odds really to me but hand on heart,i am impressed with it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I plan on doing the same thing to be honest. If i do get a 700L Dominator i am going to give the Gpro a go. If i can get it close it enough in terms of feel i may even stick with it. I have not heard many bad reports as of yet to be honest. I don't particularly like running different units… but the combo price is too good to not at least have a go

Wowww im impessed now ive done my 450 & flights start from ground upwards very smooth in controls and another thing Ive noticed betwen flights, parameter adjustment is smoother between tunings so don't be thinking this is another 3gx rubbish cos no comparison however don't get me wrong ill still like 3gx.

Ive done a few flights on my Gpro today on the X50E alongside my VBar helis and i will be totally honest here,im impressed with it and i think for the time being at least i will leave it on there to get more time on it.

But yeh,cyclic feels awesome and cannot fault the tail,its solid,setup on Ipad especially is very welcome.

Take these comments how you will,i am a Vbar fan thru and thru and have no interest in bigging the Gpro up but i do like it a lot.
