3GX tail setup help

Hi All.
So trying to setup my Copterx 250 with the 3GX and got stuck on the tail.
When I go to set the tail limits it slowly creeps to the end and I have to use opposite rudder to stop it bottoming out. So I can never get it to recognise the end point and get the light to go red.

Not sure why it should creep like that.

Wish they had a full PC setup prog like Vbar. Makes it so much easier.

Any advise appreciated.

Made sure you don't have and trim?

when you do the limits it will go slow depending on the the amount of tail stick movement, once you've gone to the limit wait a moment for 3gx to set then go the other way, also you will need to max out 'delay' before setting gyro gain more so on v3.

If it creeps then it sounds like it's not in the tail set up menu, this is completely separate to the main 3GX menu and can be accessed any time by holding the set button down for a few seconds, you then toggle though again using the set button until your on the limit LED, the servo should move very slowly but hold the position you drive it too, once you have not moved the rudder stick for a few seconds the set light will change from green to red to let you know it's saved that position as one limit, you then need to do the same for the other end and your done.

Ok figured it out there was some trim on the tail servo. I started with a new model on the tx so no idea how that got there.

Only problem now is it seems stuck in rate mode. Any more tips on that?

Isn't rate or HH mode defined by the gain from your TX? -100 to 0% = rate, 1 to 100% = HH

I managed to confuse myself with this as I had gain for throttle hold set to 0, so my heli would always look like it was stuck in rate mode on the bench, but flew fine (because normal flight modes had +ve gain )

As Tom said, set you gain. Not sure how it works on that Tx you mentioned, just have a play and you will see the light go from red to green

ok worked that one out as well. Making progress.
In the software settings display page I had no gyro gain. Its plugged into the gear port on the RX and tried changing all gear numbers and noting changed. Flicked switch and nothing changed. Last thing was change the gear sub trim and there we have it. Managed to dial up 55% tail gain. Hopefully a good starting point.

Thanks for the tips saved me some time. Bit rusty with the 3GX haven't used it for ages. Certainly makes the Vbar setup look nice and easy.

Looks like im ready for a maiden tomorrow :-)
