Yes HH is working, the led goes green above 50% only had a quick hover in the garden but im happy the thing stays pointing where i put it

Just need to eliminate the bounce caused by sharp rudder inputs

Throttle curves i use flat 80% on idle up

First just check the tail move tail stick so tail slider relaxes to one side then flick gear switch to rate mode & tail slider should centre.

Hey.

Remember 50% heading hold gain will be 75% travel in the tx ATV page, as anything below 50% ATV as you've seen changes the gyro to rate mode.

Now you're in HH mode the tail cill be so much more held through manouvers, the bounce can be improved further by lowering the lock gain further and/or increasing the delay slightly. You can do this more accurately while its connected to the pc showing the live values.

What model setting have you set in the delay options, large or small heli delay?
Also what length arm are you running on the tail servo? As running a shorter arm can help with this problem and allow a higher gyro gain by reducing the mechanical gain.

Right, Just tried 75% on the tx, a bit of wag in a hover and sharp wag after a turn

70% on the tx, it holds great and only bounces twice after a sharp rudder input, This is with lock gain at 50 and delay at about 60
I think the servo arm is 10mm from centre to ball centre

P.s its set as small model in the program

Hey.

You could lower the lock gain a bit more, but I'd look into fitting a shorter servo arm, 10mm's quite large on a 450 which is my personal feeling. I'd try putting the ball 8mm out and resetting the tail gyro settings before flying again.
The benefit to this will be a reduction in mechanical tail gain, which would allow you to raise overall gain and this would help the lock gain to not be so high due to the mechanical advantage.

Just had another quick go after turning the lock gain down to 35, again better but there is still a hint of bounce there

I need to get hold of another servo arm as i've only got the 10mm one

Also i'm leaving the Y cable plugged in for the time being until i'm happy with the setup, this won't be a problem will it?

Hey.

No, won't be a problem at all. All my machines with 3G had a Y cable left in place, saved having to keep pulling the plugs out and risking loosing a good connection. On my 450 I actually modified one to make it shorter to suit the smaller model better.

Agree with coolice to move the link in on servo horn but I'm also wondering if your esc is setup with gov.? as this will defo cause it, your esc should bleep 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 2

No I'm not using the gov as I heard the align esc's gov isn't too great
