  • 700N 3G question for COOLICE

    Ian

I've just fitted a 3G to my 700N with a CSM720 on the tail, i previously used this setup on one
of my 600N's loaded with your 550 settings file, the question is should i stick with these setting or
    upload your 700E file?

    Thanks

    Hi Wayne.

I'd suggest sticking with the 550 settings file for now buddy, it is by far the best multi helicopter set of parameters I have and seems to work well on various sizes and style of model.

When I had my 700N I kept that machines 3G on V1 firmware as it was flying so well, only when I swapped the FBL setup to my 700E did I pluck up the courage to try V2.1 and then kicked myself I didn't try it sooner!

A 700N with 3G on the cyclic and CSM on the tail is the same setup Duncan uses and makes for a very capable machine. I had good hold and feel from the 3G's tail gyro, but it comes down to what you get used to and like ultimately.

I would give the 550 settings a go first and tell me what you think of them on this model.
I'm always around and glad to help where ever I can, so can work with you to achieve a model feel you will enjoy.

Keep me posted and chat soon.

    Ian

Just an update Ian, havn't been able to give it a good flight test until today, your 550 setting work well on the 700N, I upped the gain pots a little from what I was using on the 600N the heli is flying really nice with no oscillations when doing qiuck pitch reversals. Spoke with Richard Mott yesterday (Stu's dad) who said Stuart was using both the 3gx and 3g systems, hope to get them to come down to our field shortly for Stuart to give us a couple of demo flights.
Thanks for your advice on using the 550 setttings.

            Hello mate.

Brilliant news, I did think they'd work well on the nitro model with the exception of some gain tweaks, which you have done to make it even better.

Yeah, I to am waiting to see Stu's model close up and discuss with him the settings he's flying. I've spoken to him and emailed him mine soon after he joined Align, but do not know if he ever got round to trying them or is even using them with some changes to suit his flying style.

You're very welcome, glad to help.
Please keep me posted on what you find with more time and even post your amended 700N settings in the topic I started to benefit others, as they are based on mine.
