Iam fitting 3g to 500 scale project with 4 blade head.
Can you mount the gyro inside the frame or does it have to be on the boom?

Doesn't have to be on the boom. Just needs to be horizontal and in line with the centre axis, ie. lined up with the main shaft.
In the frame would be fine but be aware the 3G is sensitive to vibes so you may want to experiment with different pads, straps etc. to get it sweet.Trex 600 ESP (Turnigy T600, DS821, DS620, GP750, 120A) sold

I have mine mounted on 2 Align foam pads, no plate, and a velcro strap holding it slightly compressed (on a 450 Pro). On a 500 the vibes will be different so it's really a case of try it and see I think.Trex 600 ESP (Turnigy T600, DS821, DS620, GP750, 120A) sold
