  • 3g v3 confused ...

I have a 600 Nitro Pro with the the 3G FBL. Its been upgraded to V3. During forward flight there is a slight bobbing of the nose.
Which takes preference the pots on the unit or the settings in the software.

If I turn the gain down in the software does the pot override this and vise versa, if the pot gain is turned down does the software settings take control ???
    Hope this makes sense....

They both work in conjunction with each other to my knowledge mate. ie if you turn the software up then you'd find you need to turn the pots down on the unit if you were in the ball park lets say. Hope thats understandable lol

Obviously the software is much more sensitive/accurate than the pots Best thing to do from the way i understand it is to start with the pots at 12 o clock and then use the software to tweak it . Knock your elevator gain down a tad to get rid of that nodding

yep will give it a try by adjusting the software :-)
Was just unsure that if i reduced the value in the software and left the pot in the same position as to which value would actually be used.

Suppose I'll have to give it a go and see... rain rain go away.... !

From memory, you should reset the pots to 12oclock after a V3 upgrade, you can then tweak the values on the PC. i have a 600 running on V3 and it works fine.

I have 600N and went back to V2.1 software with "Coolice's" Trex 550 setting file as it seems better with V2.1 rather than v3, I do however run a CSM SL720 on the tail so don't have any tail issues.

              Hey.

As Dunny has said above, I played with V3 but just could not get the feel I had with running V2.1. From memory I still had a tail kick on V3.

I do have some settings that I was using on my 550E when I dabbled with V3, which I can post if you like? Or, if you're keen to try the previous V2.1 with my settings then let me know.

A bobbing in forward flight could be due to a high elevator gain, all my models elevator gains track about 10% lower than the ailerons for example. Or the elevator lock gain, adjustable through the PC software could also be giving you the bobble. It is a trail and error thing, make small 10% adjustments and go fly again. As has been said, you can use the pots but finer adjustments are best done using the software.

v3 settings for a 550 would be a good start, if you can post them then I will give them a go before going back to a v2.1 setup.

                  Hey.

                  Here you go buddy.

The attached .txt file will open up in the Align PC software and display to you the slider positions before you can write them to your 3G unit.
