  • Which Stabilisation System?

I am looking at Stabilisation systems for my Trex 500 & 550. I want to progress faster with flying skills but held back by the fear of expensive crashes! Which stabilisation system would recover the Heli quicker? I've been looking at Helicommand systems including the new HC3-SX. Do these sytems actually work quickly enough to save a heli from a disaster?

I have a video im releasing shortly showing the recovery on a HC3-SX.....you must get used to hitting that switch!!!! If you freeze..its over

These units are expensive £400 for hc3-sx .

If you do it "old school" with no recovery then u get all the drama, excitement and once in a while you will probably s**t yourself .

Nothing like the buzz when you pull off a save inches from the ground

Although I agree with you almost to a hundred percent Paul, one would think that building everytime you crash - would tend to put people off. To tell the truth, there are somany people who hate the job of building and rebuilding every now and then.

To answer the OP, like everything else in this hobby mate, there are cheap ones and then there are really high end expensive ones with integrated FBL systems as well. HC is a nice option and there are people well versed with that on here.

Whatever you do mate, you need a sim and use that as your stepping stone - the more the electronics on your ship, the more the complicated only it can get.

To add to Jasons comment above, your rebuilds get more expensive if it or you don't save it in time and you trash your stabilisation system as well

thanks for all the input. I must admit I love the initial Heli builds, but the constant rebuilding gets to be a pain in the @*!+. Plus there is the downtime where you can't fly due to broken bits
