  • Not Keeping Settings

    Hi Chaps,
has anyone come across this problem?

I've updated my 3g to V3 without a problem, however when I switch the heli back on, the swash does not initialise level. I've gone through the setup again several times now with the same result.
I have reverted back to V2.1 and all is fine !!!
Go back to V3 and get the unlevel swash !!!
    Any theories ??

    Coops

Please no Beast X, etc. suggestions as this the first problem I have ever had with 3G and have it on several helis without any issues.

      Hey.

I've not heard of or seen this problem before, I wonder if it's just a bad upgrade process and if re-downloading the Align V3 software and going through the update process again will fix it.
As V2.1 works ok I would certainly try the above and go from there.

Myself I have updated my 550E and 450 to V3 without problem, gone through DIR mode again to be safe and hit the field and tweeked settings to get a good feel.

Thanks I only found the problem today.
This is the second unit so not sure what went wrong when the first was fine.

        Will try again tomorrow

        Thanks again

          Cheers Chaps,
problem sorted after several flashes of both V2.1 and 3 seems that it was an ATV issue trying to keep the swash level through the full movement.
Happy bunny tho so I'll see how it goes
          Tahnks for the replies

I ended up re-flashing my 550E with V2.1 after having chronic problems with severe nose-up pitching in FFF with V3.0, I tried altering the trim pots but couldn't find a happy medium . I've also updated my 700N to V3.0 and have stuck with it, I'd read reports on the freak that people were noticing that with the trim pots at 12 o'clock the software was showing maximum elevator & aileron gain at 200, I didn't find this the case but I've turned the trim pots while watching the software to reduce gain to 100 and all seems fine.

I have noticed that I've always had some aileron & elevator trim with the 700N and looking at the settings page that shows travel & trim when I returned the radio trims to neutral I found that the software was showing it as out of trim, I re-trimmed until the software was showing zero and it seems to be about where they where before, after flying it with these settings it's trimmed perfectly. A downside I've noticed to V3.0 is that the piro compensation isn't so good as V2.1 at stock settings, just need to figure out which way to adjust it.

I just wish I could find a good setup for the 550E.
