I am sticking to flybarred now for that reason until the systems are up to scratch...
I know quite a few people now who have lost helis due to systems

Upgraded my 450 Pro to v3, reset all settings to default on the PC software, and then went through 3G initialisation again. Didn't go through the tail set up though, perhaps that was my mistake. I was pretty happy with the way the 450 Pro flew on v2.1 with my mild 3D. I did 2 flights today, cyclic response seemed pretty good but way ho.. I tried some high speed backwards flight, a tail slide from height and a funnel and the tail would not hold, this was perfect before....Arggg... I added a fair bit a gain on my Futaba tx and then that introduced wagging tail like an excited dog. Drained 2 batteries and could not find a sweet spot on the gain that I was happy with :-( Bum... Will recalibrate the tail and seen it that helps... Otherwise anyone know what setting I should fiddle with to get the tail locked in on the PC software???

I'm sure if we all hold tight, Ian (Coolice) will be along soon with his findings, and most I am sure will then be happy with the way V3 flys.

Only ever had problems on V1 firmware.. though it was never anything major, just unexplained glitch every so often.

Hold wise on the tail; seems to be a little loose at the moment, though it does seem to hold through manouvers, as is the stops which don't seem to be as solid as before. Adjusting the gain on the rudder through software now and has improved a little.

Won't be flying for this week as too busy, but maybe hoping the weekend to play with the settings a bit more.

            Hey buddy.

So far I've not managed to get out with my upgraded models to test and tune me settings accordingly, but I am keeping tabs on what others are finding so far and am chomping at the bit to feel the benefits myself.

Hopefully this weekend, weather permitting as has been the case lately.

Definetly I'll be back with settings to match V3.

Did you set the tail parameter to Red" for small heli's.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

One thing I've learnt when setting up fbl controllers is to use swash levelling tool & check to make sure you don't have any interaction between from full neg to zero to full collective if you have then your cyclic servo's to swash are not correctly setup therefore causing the 3 axis gyro to have abnormal behaviour as its trying to compensate interaction, so your find gain adjustment will make little to no difference.
                  Hope this helps.

Yip tail setting is red and checked that the tail is set for small heli in the software. Been too windy for a test flight today, will try tomorrow

Flew 4 packs today....and I must admit the 450 pro did track better in the wind with V3 upgrade. defo improvement on V2.1

But after some fiddling with the tail I tried some high speed backwards loops into the 20mph wind the tail did wander a little but also wagged too suggesting too little and too much gain! argg. still not 100% happy with tail, I'm sure it was better with V2.1

On getting home, I checked the cyclic / collective operation and I've noticed the the rear of the three servos, the elevator servo, seems to have more travel than the other two servos, eh?. Now when in 3g Setup mode my swash is perfectly flat at 0 pitch, tilts back on negative pitch and tilts forward on positive pitch. I'm pretty sure it didn't do this before upgrading to V3 ;-( My servo arms on all three servos are the same length, and the end points of the three servos are the same, I've not got any custom mixes and I'm using the HR3 swash type on the Futaba T7C. Why would the elevator servo now have more travel??? I'm confused. Can I just reduce the end points on that one servo or is that going to confuse the 3g???

Have you checked what I suggested in my last post also you cant check an fbl setup unless your in program mode.

                              Hi Buddy.

I tried V3 on the 3G and soon after reverted back to V2.1.
While improvements were made to the tail gyro performance in V3, the cyclics did not feel good to me when compared to V2.1. A friend, who admitedly is not as advanced as myself, also noticed a change in feel for the worst when he tried V3 on his 550E.
I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but the cyclics did not feel as connected and stable as they were with a nicely setup V2.1. I tried all manner of software changes to try and improve things, but after about the 10th+ flight and still not feeling happy & comfortable with the model, I went back to a good, known setup I had using V2.1.

I recommend to stay on V2.1 personally, what model are you flying the 3G on?

My 550E 3G settings work well for a range of model sizes, or atleast give a good starting point for the few who prefer things a little different. If you've not already tried them I'd say give them a whirl and then let me know what you think and if need be I can advise on what parameters to try changing to get the feel as you would like it.
                              .

He has a Trex 600N Pro with Align 610 servos all round and 620 tail.

I have yoy settings on my 550EFBL. I love it, BUT, I just wish my tail was consistent. Drifts sometimes, locked others, sometimes start to drift half way through a flight. I have 40% on the Tx gain when I set off and then switch to 35%. If I leave it on 40% it wags real BAD. Perhaps I might need something in between?
