I have the 3G system on all my heli's and though I don't strap the sensor down what I do have is a Quark Gyro in place of the inbuilt system.

I like the Quark it's probably the best Gyro available and makes the 3G FBL work brilliantly :-)

The 3G system seems good. I know Lee (made2fade) uses one on his 600, and it's great. The latest software has a horrible tail from what I gather, so most bypass it and use a separate gyro like a spartan.

Yes it works, not to hard to set up, its a bit bouncy on quick stops, The phoenix sim emulates the flight characteristics quite well so try it out there.

I do have to say it is somewhat of a step down from Vbar or Beastx. I can't see why you would want to spend extra money on a 3g + quark for a FBL when you could have the beastx for less.

Considering BeastX is £150 and a Quark tail gyro alone is £115............BeastX makes sense.

                  Hey.

I'm 3G on all my models, a 450 PRO, 550E and 700E and once setup it works very well.
It's more than a match for the Beast on performance, the Vbar is meant to be the bench mark and carries a price tag to suit.

Tail hold is great, not a problem at all. I have had the odd tail kick that is sometimes mentioned, but its only happened a couple of times with many happy flights in-between.

On the smaller models (550 and down) a single Align mounting pad is best, with a velcro strap very lightly giving stability to the gyro sensor. Larger 700's I've found the Spartan mounting system (thick pad/metal plate/thin pad) to be the best.
I've tried it strapped down hard and its no better in my opinion and defeats the object of actually using a foam pad.
I have done the mod to all mine, but again I've not had any benefit out of doing it and certainly not been able to up the gains as was promoted after doing the mod.

Just grab a 3G, setup the tail as per the instructions and away you go.

I've got the 3G on my 600 & 700 no probs at all, the only prob I had when first doing the tail setup was 'delay' instruction on this is not very clear but when you setup the delay hold tail stick to the position ie 3/4 stick then press save button.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

i've had them all, i wouldn't bother with it unless you have got it already is my view.

trust me the vbar is worth the extra wedge if your thinking of buying new.

if money is tight i'd get a beastx over the 3g in a heartbeat.

                      cheers

I have 3G's in my 700 Nitro's and they are spot on. get the mounting right and the bench set up spot on and it will fly first time, I have dropped the gains down to 11oclock on the unit, mounted the sensor like this, sensor,4010m tape, quark metal plate,4010m tape and strapped hard with align strap, my rudder gain is at 60%. with no drift! flys great!

when i had the align 3g system it flew well but just did not like the tail with its random kick outs .. but the main cyclic control is good
but as paul said its streets behind the v-bar but the beast x would now be my low cost choice all day long ;0)

Far too sensitive system for my liking especially on nitro helis. Tried it on a new 600LE nitro. - horid - made to fade will tell you how you must dial out as much of the vibration as posible to get results.
I just find the system to fussy and the 780 gyro is not a patch on the 750 gyro.

I think we all in favour of the GP780 being a bag of sh**. The very well documented tail kick we all keeping hearing about is real but it doesnt happen as often as what you think. Either way its there and for me as soon as i seen this for myself it was enough to warrant bypassing the built in tail gyro. Lucky for me i had a Spartan 760 and quark lying around. I bypass the gyro completely and use those. Im flying the 3G on my very powerful Trex 600 nsp and also my 700. Ive had good results and tbh they are the easiest flybarless system to set up by a mile. If your a hardcore stick banger then id recommend you get the VBar or BeastX. If you a sports flyer with the odd bit of 3d like myself then the 3G system is more than good enough (i dont care what any sponsored pilot says!). If its good enough for Alan Szabo then it'll do for me
