  • 3G on 250

    Hi,

I have just upgraded my 250 to a 3G kit whilst showing great potential it is still not locked in enough for 3D. I can get rid of the oscillations so hovers beautifully but if you do a tic-toc or something then it blows out. If I make the gains more sensitive then hovering is crazy.

Does anyone have any tips or set up advice for me? Ideally what are the gains set on the 3G unit? What is the tail gain set to for you?

My setup is, Hyperion HS2206-3900 motor with 15T pinion, Version 2 3G unit, carbon blades and the Align 410 and 420 servos.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

is this a version 2 or version 2.1 as the later makes a hell of a difference to the tail i run mine with the pots turned to almost 2 oclock and its super stable in hover and rolls and flips nicley without head wobble no nodding on fff

This is what I needed to do!
      TX reset
Set the 3G to 12' gain
Download the latest software from the Align web site
Keep the 'Y' lead connected to the 3G
Then download latest firmware & program to 3G
      Then setup heli with TX
      Then set 3G to heli
Open up the 3G software on you PC in miscellaneous use this section to fine tune heli.
Mine is really flying nice now.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

The key to a well sorted 3G heli in my case was to reduce the "lock gain" in each axis. Aileron & Elevator reduce by ~10, Rudder reduce by ~15 points. This allows the overall gains to be raised without the risk of oscillations at hover.

Also as previously mentioned the "miscellaneous" tab may offer some additional tweaks, I have raised the Hiller by 15 points but this is a personal preference.

I hope this follows for a 250, it works great on my 600's.

My setup details was for my 250 my 500 was much easier both of which are really nice to fly however I'm going to convert my 250 to the Beastx & use the 3G on my 450
