  • FL760 What a difference!

Being a bit of a noob I was pretty much regretting buying the 3G second hand for my 500, but this weekend I plugged it all in to see how it went. I even left my quark installed ready to be plugged back in after the inevitable failure to get it working.

Have to admit - it works great - its 2.1 updated so no kick, tracks like a beast and feels very positive in the air. Also it looks _brilliant_

Trouble is now going to be resisting swapping the whole fleet over, better start saving in the

    Cheers, Chris.

    Hey.

To coin a phrase "once you go flybarless you never go back!"
I love my flybarless machines, after my 700n conversion all my fleet are now FBL, the 550 and my 450 PRO.
Some have had real problems with the 3G but initial bench setup plays a big part in how the model will fly out on the strip, so get this right and your in for an enjoyable flight.

Enjoy your 500 some more and switch the whole fleet to FBL ;-)

I would wait before converting the whole fleet.
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

If in a month or two, if you notice that you aren't flying your FB helis anymore, then consider buying another FBL unit.
In any case, the more you wait, the more you'll get for the money. They won't get any more expensive than they are now, that's for sure. And, there are too many manufacturers on the market, IMO, and they can't all survive.

Besides, I doubt that the 450 will fly as well as the 500.

          Hey Martin.

          Yeah sure no problem, here is my current 450 PRO 3G settings;

          http://3g.doelauw.nl/?s=1280735711

I have attached the 3G text file as well for you to load up in Aligns software.

This model is flying very well in hard 3D, the only thing I am slowly tweeking out though now is an elevator wobble in fast fast or backwards flight, be it upright or inverted. At one point it was really bad, but the addition of 30grams of lead to the nose of the model to correct the C/G and the above settings have drastically improved it.
Thinking about it more last night I think what I am seeing now is a very slight gain related wobble, so I will tweek them down a little more a try again.

With the above settings the gain pots of the unit are set to roughly 50% Aileron and 42% Elevator.

If you try them let me know what you think.
