  • 3g tail woes

i put a 3g on my trex 600esp today and it fly superb BUT i cant get rid of a tail wag. I have tried various grades of gyro tape and even changed the tail servo.
the wag was not present before fitting.
    620 servos all round
    edge 600 flybarless blades
the only thing i can think of was that on set up it would not enter config mode with the tail servo and gain wire plugged into the receiver, but with removed all set up fine. the gyro menu was fine and seems to work ok except for bounce on hard piro stops
do you think this is a faulty unit guys
or any ideas on the wag

Whats your settings and you have set the tail EXACTLY as the instructions other wise it will ! Not as you thinks right - AS the Instructions ! Important

Have you got the tail setup to fly in non heading hold?
Also which Gyro did you use before?
At the field the other day a chap had a really long servo arm and it did like doing the end point setting until he had shortened the arm.
        might help
        Cheers Paul

was running a gp750 before ,today i tried a shorter horn length of 7.5mm which was better but still not right the manual suggests 10mm.
i have not set in up in normal mode , did you on yours paul ? and hows your tail on yours?

When my 3G600 was new I chased a tail wag which ended up being caused by poor mechanical performance. In my case the slider was sticking, but these helis are sensitive to sloppy linkages/bladegips as well.
Have you checked the tail grip retainer screws?

Also the heli is set exactly as per the book and the tail performs well at gain of ~30 in AVCS (Futaba) mode.

            Hope it helps

Surely this is the problem, you need to check why this is - try setting up with another tx/rx to rule this out ? - If you can't enter setup mode without unplugging leads then this is not right!

I too ran a GP750 before using a 650 servo I find the tail OK not as nice a my gy611 on the other 600.
I did have to run a little more gain then the 750
I ran the 750 to fly in normal and not moved any thing on the tail so i hope it still set up for normal I haven't tried flying it in normal
hope this helps and you get it sorted
                Cheers Paul
