Sorry if this is old news, but just in case - I read around about concerns over the power bus for larger heli's, this doesn't seem to be an issue on smaller heli's, so on my 250 and 450 I haven't worried about it, but now have the 3G kit for 500, and 500 ESP on order, so thought this was big enough to be worth doing something about.
I ordered two of the shortest JR extension leads I could find - cost 45p each, and I have used a pin to remove the power lead/pins from the extension plugs, and inserted them into the Align 3G servo plugs for pit/ele (which only have signal wires) - the JR pins slot straight in perfectly.
UPDATED: as others pointed out, there is only one power feed from ESC anyway, so this is probably a complete waste of time ;-(
