Was that the famous downwind auto Tim..LOL ask Edders for details

Chris, my Bud has V-Bar I'll give it a go on his. I'm pretty crap at Shaky anyway but will prise the TX out of his hands for a try.

You defo need powerfull servos, good pushrods etc. In Extreme FFF..As fast as I could go using what 15 Deg? and 2170 I gently pulled up to do a massive loop. FBL is fast BTW..LOl and it grabbed suddenly pitching almost straight up. Reckon I stalled the elev servo briefly At least it was heading up the way Tim..

Does the heli feel locked in good with the unit?

I bought one of the first 600N LE 3G kits back in Feb and fly it in stock form. I have elevator at 11o'clock and aileron at 12o'clock and I cannot be happier.

It feels like flying the sim, it's that stable. I can't comment on its comparison to a FB version because I don't own any FB helis, just FBL.

I'm yet to try the Edge blades but don't really need them, it is great as it is.

I can't say my own experience has been all roses ... Align 3G Flybarless - V1 interim review

The system in it's current form has issues and having to buy one brand of blades to fix it really isn't a fix in my opinion.

The tail gyro is poor and overly sensitive, to the extent I disconnected mine for the safety of my model.

The new firmware and software is needed and hopefully will resolve these problems which for the most part people are living with having given up trying to solve by turning gain pots. If the new software does resolve these issues then I will give it a thumbs up as it does have a more natural feel than other flybarless systems I've flown.

It's interesting to note that those having success are mostly using all Align equipment (specifically servos). I suspect the system is optomised around the responsivity of the Align 610s on cyclic.

These views are based on full 3D flight, I dare say sport fliers won't notice anything but a bit of an elevator nod now and then. As always problems don't tend to show up until you start wringing out the capabilities of the system.

In the interim I put a V-Bar on mine and so far it seems A LOT better, although it doesn't feel quite as natural as the Align 3G.

Note: Align is touting the V2 firmware and programming box release as next week, so not long to wait.

I think you are spot on Ash. After flying both the 600 and 700 FBL for a week in corfu i experinced a mixed result from both models.

The gyros are too sensative and i was experiencing random twitches or glitches every now and then causing the tail to kick randomly sometimes just in the hover or in FF... a little alarming but put down to vibes caused by rich running engines in the heat. This in turn highlights the over sensitivity of the gyros.

The 700 tail never seemed that locked in either and there was a gentle wag which i could not dial out.

I found a prefference for the 600 system which did have elevator bounce until i knocked the pot back by 1/4 turn which completely transformed the heli and eliminated all the bounce. Both machines are running 610's on the cyclics and Edge blades.

My "very" mild 3D style most definately does not fully test the system but i do like the way it flies and should these issues be ironed out by the new firmware it will be a keeper for me.

I thought the 600 would prove a bit of a hanful with my standard of flying but it inspired loads of confidence with awesome tracking and accuracy allowing more confident use of the power on tap

I'm going to convert one of my 700's back to Flybarred to compare and will await the updates to the 3G system in the hope that it sorts out the glitches

For those wanting to sort through their blades to find which will work best......

Just hang the blade on the blade bolt vertically and offer it up leading edge first to a vertical surface. The blades which most closely match the vertical surface will have the least bounce and nod issues. If you have a big gap at the bolt hole between the leading edge and the wall/vertical surface then forget it, that will nod for sure.

A big gap is 1 cm or more, a good blade will show maybe 1-2mm gap at the bolt hole or no gap at all.

So far standard SABs seem very good, as do NHP 600 aggressors. I don't have edge blades to try but I'll bet they are CG neutral as well.

The standard radix blades work quite well, running 690 standards on my 700, and Geek is running 600's on his 600.
Not as composed as the edge blades and you do have to turn the gains down, but without going to the expence of buying new blades as i had these already they work well
