  • Trex 500 fbl maiden

Well, everything worked but couldn't seem to dial out a slight nod in the hover, which seem to get worse during fast forward flight.

Forgot to take the instructions with me , but tried turning the gain down on the elevator, was down to about 10 o'clock position from memory, but still could hear and see the nodding. Wind was quite gusty, not sure if this was another factor ??.

If I can get rid of the nod, it would be perfect. The extra power combined with the way it tracks is fantastic.

Has anyone had similar problems ??, or have tried some of the new dedicated flybarless blades on the 500. Seen the Torsions in stock at Fast Lads, but the Edge blades are sold out. Be good to hear from someone who had used them.
    Cheers,
    Simon

I thought the instructions say do the opposite ??. I started with them both at 12 o'clock. Did seem to be getting better as the elevator gain was turned down, didn't think to try turning it up ??.

Is your head speed too slow?

I doute it as he has a heli for every day of the week and electric's don't need running in like a nitro.
But I know you are saying to slow for the hard dampers as they are new

I've got no come back against that

It's not lacking head speed, but there is definitely a oscillation or nodding in the hover and in fast forward flight. There is another chap at the field who has a similar problem but much worse. He has the sensor on the tail boom, mine is mounted on the bottom plate. I suppose it could be new dampers being a bit on the hard side. Only had 4 flights today, but for me I preferred it to when it had a fly bar. If I can get rid of this nodding at pitching in flight it would be perfect !!.

Will have to try turning the gains down a bit more, but still interested to hear from anyone who had tried some dedicated flybarless blades on the 500.
            Cheers,
            Simon
