  • Align 3G Gain Settings?

The handbook is a little unclear on this topic so I am wondering where people are running this setting. I have it set at 9 o'clock which feels very low, can anyone offer their guidance please?

Also the heli has a strange shake at hover which seems to be associated with the above, is anyone willing to share any similar experiences please?

    Many thanks in advance

12 o,clock = 50% gain which is classed as default settings.

My gain on my 700 is for aileron 50% (12 on the clock) but I knocked the elevator down to 11 (anti-clockwise) as you look at it as a clock face to eliminate a small bounce on the elevator which seems to be a common happening as yet.

I suggest both your gain values are too low hence your (shake)

Turn them both to 12 oclock and try again.

Thanks busterboy, I'm off to give it a try....

      I'll report back later...

        Hey.

How have you mounted your gyro sensor? Reason I ask is that this will have an influence on gain which can be set. It sounds as if harder mounted sensors are best.
Also, what servos are you running? If they differ to the ones Tim has fitted then this to will effect gain. We must also bear in mind voltages to said ccpm servos.
Blades to I am sure will effect how the head responds could be a cause combined with gain values, gyro mounting etc

Just returned from field....the advice above is spot on! Thanks busterboy the is no more shake and the heli flies absolutely perfect with gains at 12 o'clock.

I found that the elevator bounce disappeared with higher headspeed..all-in-all a good day.

The gyro is mounted on the stock pads as supplied by Align. Servos are DS610's as per the kit and a 2 in 1 regulator, again blades are stock as per kit. A higher gain setting has fixed the shake and a higher headspeed fixed the nodding, a perfectly tuned heli...thanks for youe advice.

Only a slight possibility, I'm caught with some family engagements

At least there is no longer any risk of contracting trenchfoot over there, it's actually quite dry...have fun.

                  I flew mine today
I found that after a death spin (backwards tail slide while rolling)
when I pulled out the elevator was very pitchy
I did have alot of speed but I had to hold elevator in level flight.
what should I do with the gain?
or what else should I do?
                  Cheers Paul

Running both elevator and Alieron at 11 o'clock. Edge Flybarless blades and 8915 servo's and it flies great.

A bit of time and effort and i am extremely pleased with the results. A definate keeper for me!

I am using elevator gain of 11 o'clock too but 12 on Alieron
I am using a old set of 600D's the ones with the little black line

I also have new 600d's to try
                      Radix to try

                      Thanks again
                      Cheers Paul

On my 450/250 with 3G I've found there seems to be some interaction between the ail and elev gains, so 3G seems to be happier with elev gain slightly lower than ail gain.

450 I have ail 12pm elev 10.30pm, 250 ail 10.30pm elev 9pm. The 450 flies nicely, the 250 not so great, the elev shake is pretty easy to provoke, I found when playing around with gains that turning the ail gain down further made the elev shake worse, so I think its worth turning ail gain as close to 12pm as you can get, and then play with the elev gain to avoid the gentle elevator nodding into hover and slow flight, and the violent elevator shaking when doing rolls etc.
