  • Flybarless Blades

I've seen a couple of threads very recently where people are saying that the Align 690D blades are not suited to their flybarless system on the 700. If this is truly the case, then why are these blades being sold with the flybarless system in the combo package, and why are they no good?

I suspect that Align are already on the case designing some blades to suit their new FBL product Steve.

Why they are shipping the current 690D blades I can only assume its because its the only 90 size blade they make at the moment.

      Makes sense.

Why are they no good? What is it about their flying characteristics that makes them not suitable?

They are a dedicated 3D blade (Light, Short and nimble) which doesnt suit the FBL unit mate.

maybe they are also too flexible, besides the light weight. It could be also the geometry (lead/lag, here: http://www.vstabi.info/en/node/74, also see the section on "stiffness" at the bottom of the page).

On the flybarless 450, the difference between Align CF and Radix is like night and day. But on my flybar 450 it doesn't matter too much.
