Hey.

As already mentioned, I'd suggest to go with V3.1.

V4 is very good, a little bounce problem on the tail after quick stab yaw commands but otherwise very good except for this annoying twitching of the controls which is the only reason I'm not advising going with V4 at this time.
I am running V4 on my 450L and it's flying nice, but this twitch does also happen on the throttle occasionally and it would be even more scary if the throttle twitched on a larger machine.

However Duncan was running V4 on his new Trex 800E DFC last Sunday, the videos have been posted and it certainly didn't hold Dunc back to much.
In flight the twitch isn't noticeable, so it may just be a feedback loop problem when the model is not moving, but I cannot be sure.

The 3GX is a reasonable unit, it's no Vbar, but is able to do the book if the pilot is.

I have a 3GX as well I bought it from a club member and it was brand new, fitted but not flown. I was going to sell it on as I just couldn't be bothered. But then I flew someone's 550 with a 3GX version 3 (I guess 3.1) and it was really not bad at all, it felt very much like a BeastX, I could certainly live with it on a casual beater. I was planning to convert my Beam E4 to FBL but just haven't got round to it.

I can't believe with a 3D-H at £20 you'd even consider something as useless as the 3GX, nope never flown one but ask all the Align pilots why they don't fly one. The fbl unit that started it all really and the FBL unit that still can't do it.

I can deal with a little tweaking if needs be but it's involuntary tipping that puts me off. I had a mate that used to wince when he autoed his 700 because it used to have a squiffy swashplate and he never knew if it would survive lol and had to double check it was level as he spooled up

I want to be able to cane the 3gx in the knowledge that I've tried it myself mate rather than avoiding because of its reputation ( sounds like a few girls I've known)

I have the 3GX on 2 or 3 helis, and it's a very capable unit. Granted, it's not on a par with the Vbar or the Vortex but it can be picked up for the price of a datapod or a bluetooth programmer for the vbar.

I guess if you're some kind of 3D god, then it might not be suited to your skills but that's something I'll never be and I'm happy with the ones I'm using.

Try a kbar flybarless seach on ebay . I did, it arrived a few days ago!
seems awfully familiar just do not try to update it on line !
may just save you from the 3gx !

Basically you'll get annoyed that you've wasted time on the 3gx and then just sort your vbar, stick with what you know that's what I say Don!
