I recently had a thought about converting my Beam E4 to FBL (for those not familiar with the E4 it's a lot like the Trex 450 pro) and going to a three blade head.
At the moment I rarely fly the 450, not out of any dislike for it as I used to fly it alot and it's a very good heli, but someone at one of the clubs I fly at was fed up with his new 3GX and wants to sell it and for some reason the idea of converting my 450 to a three blade head seems like an interesting experiment.
I would want it to be useable for 'big air' FAI type stuff (well, as much as anyone can expect a 450 to be), so not just sedate scale flying but fully aerobatic but not hard 3D.
So I'm just curious if anyone is running a 3GX on a multiblade head on a 450 and if so what head you're using and how well it's working. I am seeing some inexpensive 3 blade heads on EBay but not sure what the QC and materials are like on them but that's the price range I'm liking, otherwise it stays flybarred (or the stock two blade head could be modded pretty cheaply for a basic two blade FBL setup).
I still have a 3G unit as well that I have never tried.
