Ive ordered couple of these BEC - 10A Peak 25V Max Input Switching BEC :: Regulators / BEC's :: Batteries,... to solve same problem on my 250 & 450.Originally posted by helimadness View PostLike most things its best guess. I am thinking now It is more a power problem. Going to try a separate BEC and if it does the same thing then it must be vibes :-)
Will check for vibes as well. Guess with a 250 can just hang on to it and spool up.
Let us know if you have any breakthroughs. Where do you have your ZXY mounted? I took mine off the supplied gyro plate as it was so thin and light figured it would be attracting vibes. Have on the bottom frame now.Today's outlook is fine for flying.- Spektrum DX18 gen2, Phoenix Sims, Align MR25XP.

Evening Guys.
The above BEC's will be great, it sounds overkill on the smaller 250/450 models, but as the performance of the FBL unit's increases so to does the current draw for the servos they command.
Unfortunately in Align's case, the ESC's with inbuilt BEC's they supplied with the flybarred models worked well for them, probably still marginal on amps but the setup gave much better mechanical gains to help ease the servo loads in flight. As we've lost the various control/mixer arms and passed on loads more directly to the servos, this hasn't helped matters as the supplied BEC's have not increased inline with the above.
On the vibration front it can be something as simple as a bad bearing, that to some degree has passed unnoticed but with time get's worse and then presents more of a problem. On electric models the tail rotor can be a major cause, so keep your eye on the back end. Main shaft bearings I've also seen can be problematic, especially after a crash and were missed during the rebuild.
As I mentioned above, the Raptor 50 with Vbar allowed us to note that a harder mounting actually resulted in less vibes being shown on the vibe analyser, which startled us if I am honest as I was expecting a softer mount to help. However all the currently available FBL unit's are different and so what works for one may not be so good for another, it's trial and error, but with a more twitching about through vibes the last things you want to do is keep flying a nervous model.

Hi tourerjim,
I have just done almost the same as you, i prefer to use BeastX but i wanted to use the BX in my Gaui200 so, i swopped out the BX for my unused 3GX ( updated to V3.01) on one of my Align 250's.
The first Hover and flight was great, very smooth in all orientations inc some flips & rolls & inverted (no 3D .. i cannot, yet!!). T/Off & Landings nice.
My T250 is mostly stock, align ESC & Motor. DS410's cyclic. DS520 Tail + carbon P/rod + 36mm T/Blades. The FBL head is stock align with Align carbon 205 blades.
The 3GX is down firm with grey 3M 4011 tape. Pitch is 12* cyclic travel is 10*.
THR Cve IU 95---92---95. Pitch Cve is all default linear. Gyro IU at 50%. . All travels are 100%. No Expo used. My Tx is DX8.
Just for info i followed the you tube setup help from 'Freddy can fly' 3GX setup as i had no experience with these units.
I found the 3GX flight very nice. Hope some of this helps.Brain Goblin 380. Brain Goblin 500 sport. Spirit Trex550e DFC. (BeastX Trex450Pro, BeastX Trex550e DFC... in Thailand)

Have order a Gryphon Polaris 10amp mini BEC only 7g. Sounding like that is going to be the most likely problem.Originally posted by coolice View PostEvening Guys.

Re looking at the specs on the ESC the BEC is only 2amp at 5v so low voltage as well which wont be helping. Will bump it up to 6v with the Gryphon BEC.
Also looking at my plugs the lipos came with JST's on them. So easy way was to put a JST on the ESC and away I went I did think they looked a bit small. Looking at the specs I think they are only good for 3-5 amps. Sounds like the 3GX / servos alone will suck that much before you even allow for the motor draw. Possibly not helping the problem.
So have ordered some EC3 to change them over to. Maybe overkill but same plug as my goblin flight packs so can eliminate one set of adapters in my charging kit.
