  • Fine tuning 3gx on blade 300x

    Guys looking for some advice on fine tuning the 3gx on blade 300x , I,m a noob so what setting should I be looking at to make sure it's not to frisky !! . I have set up mechanically and setup 3gx , gain pots are at 10 , I'm running v3.1 .

    Have just done a test hover and it seams ok , a bit twitchy on initial spool up and take of.

    Is there a good guide on the detailed set up ? What's best for a noob ?

      So long as you've got the 3GX setup for a small heli (you can change via the PC software - there's a setting for choosing 450 or less, or 500s and above).

      Beyond that - I would probably just focus on getting the right balance of Expo/DR in your TX.

        Hey.

        Unfortunately Align removed the model size specific base settings from the 3G/GX FBL units, so it's a case of setting up the model within DIR mode and then tuning the settings via the PC link to suit the individual application.

        With the release of V3.1 (and V3 before it) Align did simplify things a lot more, meaning the base settings from a firmware upgrade would have most size models flying ok, but not to the best they could be. It then takes experience in knowing what each parameter does to the way the model feels in flight to get the best from the unit.

        Having started playing with 3GX's again on V3.1 I can say that my settings files posted for V2.1 on the 3GX do appear to work well on the latest V3.1 firmware, I wasn't expecting them to but touch wood they do and would make a good starting point for you.

        If you struggle to find them PM me your email address and I will send them to you.

        In the meantime, what dual rate and exponential values have you set in the transmitter?
        Also, did you set the required 8 degree's of cyclic while in DIR mode? Then follow through all the required steps including throttle calibration?

            Hey.

            This is better, on my full size keyboard.

            Here are my standard dual rate and exponential settings that I run on all my models;

            Normal mode; 70% Dual Rate / 16~18% Exponential
            Idle Up1&2 & TH Hold; 100 Dual Rate / 36~38% Exponential

            The above is combined with exponential set within the Align PC software as well, this I set to the 2nd position on the exponential slider within the PC software, so as you can see around centre I run a softer setup. However the model still does the whole book (in Duncan Osbourns hands) albeit with the model not feeling as lively as he'd like perhaps.

            My advice would be to use the above as your starting point and then adjust these values until you obtain the feel you are comfortable with. Also I'd grab my settings file for the 3GX and load that onto your 3GX to see how those feel to you.
