  • 3gx - Power

    Hi Guys,

The way my 2nd hand heli has been wired means the power goes into the RX first and its quite a short lead.

Do I need to extend this and route into the 3gx first then onto the Optima RX I am going to be using?

The Optima has voltage telemetry, so will that be affected by going into the 3gx first?

    Hey.

In short yes, you need to power the 3GX and then there is a specific port on the 3GX which supplys power via a short male to male servo extension lead to your choosen receiver.

Your telemetry should still work all ok, as this is coming from the receiver which is going to be powered as normal.

Well its all working thanks to the guys on here - but I cant quite figure out how to set throttle travel given its a nitro.

Old days used to set the throttle mechanical link to approximate position then tweak full throttle and closed by the EPA - is there a different process on the 3gx?

The mechanical throw just now doesnt fully open/shut it - so should I do this before setting it in the 3gx?

          Hey.

You can adjust the throttle ATV values to have the carb opening and closing. Once you have set these values I'd go back into the throttle calibration on the 3GX and teach it the new throttle travel limits, as it needs to know these for the govenor and collective pre-compensation tail inputs.

You're welcome glad to help. Keep us posted on how you get on.

I thought that might be the trick but was trying to get my head round it - thanks very much :-)

I am actually doing all this from scratch with this forum and google as my sole points of reference, so really appreciate any tips.

Bit concerned as I am using the Aurora9 so trying to compare settings on the forum is very hard once I finish setting up :-(

Problem is the hrs figuring it all out has taken away from sim time :-(
