3GX status light

  • 3GX status light

    Hi all,

    I'm a bit confused by the 3GX status light. On my 500EFL, it's red. On my 450-3GX, it's green.

    The only difference I can see between the two (other than v2.1 / v3.0) is that the 450 has the tail servo mounted on the boom with the horn facing left. The 500EFL on the other hand has the servo on the left with the horn facing right. Both are giving the correct anti-torque response.

    Any ideas? Would the different servo orientation account for the different light? Or have I got my gains wrong maybe (HH v RM) ?

    Status light in red = rudder normal mode, green = headlock mode.

      This has me confused then. Both are setup the same as far as I can tell, but one has the red status light ...

        I'm an idiot. I had gain set to 0 for the throttle hold switch. As soon as I flicked into normal, the light goes green ..

          Oddly enough you will also get the status light showing green in rate mode and red in heading hold, if by accident when you did the initial setup you reversed the gyro in your tx and not the tail servo if it was going the wrong way. The heli will fly and the tail will go the right way but with a red status light in heading hold, the tail won't lock and will constantly have a slow drift. Which if you don't realise will drive you insane looking for things causing vibrations and constantly doubting how well you have mounted the 3gx unit.
          I have two tools in my tool box. A hammer...... and a condom. If that doesn't work then it's TJFGOP.... The Jobs Fd Going On The P:::::::
