Setting Gov.?.

I've just replaced my aging 3G for the 3GX but struggling to fine info on setting throttle & gov in tx, done the gov sync with with 3GX so just need an idea what to set the throttle norm mode & idle 1/2 & the atv for gov

Hey Jim.

You're looking for starting points at which to set the govenor channel ATV to for rotor RPM setting?
I've just tried to use the PC software as it has a graph(?!) but can't find this. Am currently downloading a 700N 3GX manual to see if anything is listed in there for govenor ATV channel settings.

In all honesty as you have the govenor working on the bench, with low & full power positions programmed in, I'd probably set an ATV of about 60% and go give the model a fly. From here then adjust up or down untill you achieved the required head speed, you won't miss a tacho as you'll hear and feel when the RPM is right for the model & engine.

I'm curious to hear how you get on as I've not used the 3GX govenor.

Hey buddy.

In theory no, as any throttle setting above 30% would keep the governor active. However to keep the model flying should the governor fail for any reason, I'd spend a little while setting up basic throttle curves that would keep the model flying even while inverted should the governor stop working.
As you've said even 100 - 50 - 100% would allow you to fly the model without the aid of a governor controlling rotor rpm. Then turn on the governor at 60% setting as your starting point.
