  • 3GX tail issue

I have just developed an issue with my 450 v2 sport 3GX. For no reason at all the tail is randomly swinging / jumping out and then back again. Any thoughts. Had a recent crash. Could my gyro be stuffed or am I overlooking something?

Check the tension on your belt. It may have stretched slightly and be too slack. You shouldn't be able to push it anymore than half way across the boom at most. I would also redo the setup and calibration on your 3GX and check your end points on your rudder etc. But sounds like a belt issue.

      Cheers

Thanks. Will check all of those things. I do seem to have an issue with the belt losing tension periodically. Boom screws as tight as they can go.
This sounds like it could be my problem.
Thanks for both of you taking time to respond.

Check your tail bearings in the tail grips while you're at it. I had an inner pull through the outer race and kept jamming the tail causing weird behaviour.

Will do Vikki. I have over 150 flights on it and I have never checked them.

              Hey.

I was going to add in check your tail bearings, but Vikki's beat me to it.
These are a known weak point on the little 450's as they start to break up and cause the tail grips to seize under load while spinning.
