  • 3GX and retracts

I am in the process of converting my trex 450 to go into a scale model. It's stock setup 3GX with two sats running off a DX8. As I understand it gov is set to gear, and gyro gain to aux 2 at the moment.

I clearly have two physical ports available at the back of the 3gx, in effect the s bus and bind ports. Is there any way I can use either of these to run the servo for the retracts, and in which case how do I set them in the dx8? Or do I either need to put in another fbl unit with 7 channels like the beastx, or run a separate receiver from the 3gx which will be a tight fit on a 450 to run the retracts?

You'd need a separate receiver, but you could switch the 3GX to use that instead of the satellites if you needed to save space.

It would switch gyro gain from channel 7 to channel 5, and would leave you free to use spare ports on the receiver for your governor or retracts.

Alternatively, if you're not using the 3GX governor, you could maybe use that channel.

Job done, thanks very much. Servo from the aux out port, in the dx8 switch for mix set to aux 3, then just a matter of getting the travel and linkage rods correct.

              thanks all again
