    Hi Everyone
    i've been using beast x on a couple of my helis but just got a brand new align 3gx compact with a heli the problem is its on v1.2 so my question is can i update it right out of the box straight to v5 or do i have to bind it and insall v3, v4 then v5

    should be able to go straight to latest software.

        I'm sure version 4 is required before 5.

          I pretty sure you can just go straight to the latest version. When you upgrade it overwrites the previous firmware anyway.

            Yes, confirmed in the procedure to recover from a failed firmware update. You can go straight from v1.0 firmware to any other version you wish: http://ms.align.com.tw/3g_update/3GX_Update_V1.pdf

              Thanks for the quick reply's, i've put v5 on my laptop when i connect the 3gx its says firmware version NA do i need power to the unit ?

                Yes it needs to be powered up and bound to a Tx to connect.

                    wired the 3gx up put two sat's on it, they both flash during binding then lights go solid but no power to the 3gx any idea what i'm doing wrong

                      you powered off then removed bind plug I'm assuming.

                            Hey.

                            If you remove the bind plug before binding you set all servo user position failsafe, not just throttle failsafe and all other channels last position hold.
